会場を御提供くださった「おりづるタワー」は、オーナー様が巨額を投資して
広島の平和を祈って建立された意義深い建造物。
そこに立って、広島の過去・現在・未来を感じてほしいという願いに、
私たちのサミットと通じる想いを抱かせていただいた。
広島の新名所とも呼ばれるその場所への好奇心もあってか、
参加の申し込みは、当初予定の50名から80名様に膨れ上がり、
協賛品のお土産を袋詰めする作業が、サミット開催の直前まで続いた。
集客に苦労したことや、登壇者の変更があったこともあり、
広島の進行台本は、当日朝まで手直しをしなければならなかったけれど、
どうにか２時間の内容に収めることが出来た。
会場となった「おりづる広場」は、スタジアム形式の階段があって、
参加者には、そこにクッションを敷いて座っていただいた。
終始、座談会のような和やかな雰囲気で進行できたのは、
登壇者と参加者との心地良い距離感のお陰だったのかもしれない。
1999年から平和村大使として活動されている東ちづるさんは、
いつか平和村がなくなってほしいという想いを語られた。
人工流れ星の研究開発をされている岡島礼奈さんは、
「来春、広島で一緒に流れ星を見ながら夢を叶えましょう」と呼びかけられた。
かつて「広島アートアクアリウム・金魚の祈り」を開催した木村英智さんは、
「無償の愛」を保証されて生まれてくる金魚の姿に、未来の世界平和を例えた。
「戦争は戦うこと(暴力)では解決できない」
誰よりも現場の最前線にいるトーマスの言葉が、胸に深く突き刺さった。
当初、一番不安材料の多い広島サミットだったけれど、
生の声の交流がたくさんできたことが、何よりの成果だったといえよう。
平日のお忙しい時間にサミットに御参加くださったすべての皆様、
広島・おりづるタワー関係者の皆様、繋いでくださった皆様、
御登壇くださった皆様、当日のお手伝いをしてくださった皆様、
本当にありがとうございました。
私たちの想いが、皆様の心に届いていたら幸いです。

They wish you to stand there and feel the past, present and future of Hiroshima,
We were convinced that it was the same spirit as our summit.
There seemed also curiosity about the place, which was called a new landmark in Hiroshima,
Application for participation increased from 50 people originally planned to 80 people.
The work of bagging out souvenirs for sponsorships continued until just before the summit.
We had hard time to collect guests and there was also a change of the speaker.
The script of Hiroshima had to be reworked until the morning of the day.
The venue, "Orizuru Square" has a stadium-style staircase,
The participants sat down with a cushion.
Throughout the day, we were able to proceed in a peaceful atmosphere like a round-table talk,
It may have been a pleasant sense of distance between the speaker and the participants.
Chizuru Azuma, who has been active as a peace village ambassador since 1999, was talked that she wanted hope that peace village will be gone someday.
Rena Okajima, who is researching and developing artificial shooting stars,
She asked to make a dream come true while watching shooting stars together in Hiroshima next spring.
Hidetomo Kimura, who once held the "Hiroshima Art Aquarium / Prayer of Goldfish", pointed that the appearance of a goldfish born with the guarantee of "free love" should lead the world peace of the future.
"The war cannot be solved by fighting"
The words of Thomas who was on the front line more than anyone, stuck deep in my heart.
Initially, it was the Hiroshima Summit with the most anxieties, but having many exchanges of direct voices was the most outstanding result.
Everyone who participated in the Summit during busy hours on weekdays,
Hiroshima Orizuru Tower officials, everyone who connected us,
All speakers, and everyone who helped the day,
We were really thankful to you.
