マイケル・ジャクソン氏がプライベートで日本にやって来た時に、
コーディネートや通訳をしたのが、私の従姉だった。
世間ではいろんなことで騒がれていた時期だったけれど、
彼の本当の優しさ、子供や動物を愛する心、
そして世界への想いなどを、垣間見せてくれたと聞いていた。
カナダのサーカス集団、シルク・ド・ソレイユが、
マイケル・ジャクソンの音楽に乗せてスペクタクルなショーを繰り広げる。
空中パフォーマンスと豪快なアクロバット、最先端の音響システム。
63人のダンサーが、一瞬たりとも目が離せない豪華ステージを演出する。
私はなかでも、片足のダンサー、ジーン・ソック氏に釘付けだった。
最難関のオーディションを突破した彼のダンス技術も突出していたし、
彼を採用したプロデューサー側の姿勢にも感銘した。
極め付けは、等身大のマイケルがイリュージョンで写し出され、
他のダンサーと一緒に踊るシーン。
もう会えないと思っていたのに、また会えたという感動。
それでも、やはり本人ではないという哀しみ。
一本足の彼も「いのち」があるから、現実として踊れるのだ。
華やかな舞台を観ながら、「いのち」について考えたラスベガスの夜。
2018年に観たあらゆるショーの中で、間違いなくNo.1だった。

I particularly paid attention about Mr. Jean Sok, a one-leg dancer.
His dance skill which broke through the most difficult audition was prominent,
I was also impressed by the attitude of the producer who adopted him.
Especially I loved a scene the life-size Michael was projected in illusion, and danced with other dancers.
I thought that I could not meet him anymore, but I was impressed that I could meet him again.
Still, I feel sorrow that he is not alive.
Jean Sok has "life", so he can dance as reality,
but Michael cannot.
It was Las Vegas night I thought about 'life' while watching the ornate stage.
Among all the shows I saw in 2018, it was definitely No. 1.
