かつてミッドタウンに「フォーシーズンス」という人気レストランがあった。
パワフルな肉料理中心のメニューと、煌びやかなインテリア。
政治家、ビジネスマン、ジャーナリストといったセレブ達が集い、
世の中を動かすような密談をしていた。
「パワーランチ」という言葉の発祥地としても有名だった。
1959年に開業し2016年に移転するまでの歴史も含めて、
「伝説のレストラン」となった「フォーシーズンス」の跡地。
今波に乗っているメジャーフードグループが引き継ぎ、
一昨年に「THE GRILL」と「 THE POOL」がオープンした。
その３部作の最後にオープンしたのが「The Lobster Club」。
世界的に著名な商業建築家ピーター・マリノ氏が、
米国内で初めてレストランをプロデュース。
「寿司麻布」にいた村上輔氏がトップシェフに招かれて、
米国人の大好きな和食フュージョンスタイルのお店が完成した。
100席以上の大きな箱は、連日予約でいっぱい。
夜遅く22時近いスタートで、ようやく初めての料理を堪能。
店名の通り、ロブスターをアレンジした料理や、寿司ロールなど、
和食の新しい挑戦を感じさせるメニューが並んでいた。
閉店間際に、ひと段落したシェフと合流して、
店内全てのゾーンを見学させてもらった。
ピカソ、バスキアなど、オーナーのコレクションも必見。
裏方を知れば知るほど、飲食業界は奥が深い。
There once was a popular restaurant "Four Seasons" in Midtown.

designed the interior of the restaurant for the first time in the United States.
Chef Tasuku Murakami who was in "Sushi Azabu" was invited to the top chef,
American favorite Japanese style fusion style restaurant was completed.
A large box of over 100 seats is full of reservations every day.
Late at night at around 22 o'clock, we finally enjoyed our first dish.
There were menus that made me feel new challenges of Japanese cuisine
such as arranged lobsters and sushi rolls.
Just before they closed the restaurant, we finally joined the chef,
he took us to see all the zones in the restaurant.
Picasso, Basquiat, owner's collection must also not be missed.
