旅行好きの両親は、一道一都二府四十三県を二巡以上しただろう。
その土地を知り、歴史を知ることが、日本を知る原点だと。
知らない土地に行きたい、知らない人に会いたいという好奇心を、
私も確実に受け継いでいる。
社会人になって初めて、加賀の国を訪れた。
教科書で見た金沢城と兼六園がそのままそこにあった。
期待していた雪吊りがなかったのは、暖かい冬だったからだろうか。
そこで見た染物の色が、とても印象的だった。
紅、紫、緑を主体に、草花や鳥などの自然が、優しい色で描かれていた。
京都から加賀の国に渡った染色技術を、初めて肌で感じた。
山田みどり氏のデザインが、加賀友禅の帯に生まれ変わった。
ジャズのリズムを奏でるように、多彩な色で描かれるロンダは、
流麗な図案調の京友禅と、写実絵画調の加賀友禅の融合。
「はんなりと優しい色あい」という言葉がぴったりだった。
この帯を纏ってニューヨークの街を歩いてみたい。
世界にもっと、日本の技術と日本人の素晴らしさを伝えたい。
My parents love to travel very much, and travelled more than two rounds
in Japan.
It was to know the land, the history, and the origin of Japan.
It was to go to unfamiliar land, and the curiosity that want to meet people
who do not know.
I have also inherited it surely.
I visited Kaga country when I worked in Japan.
Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen, which I saw in the textbook, were there
as it is.
There was not "snow hanging" that I expected, I thought because it was
a warm winter.
I was impressed by the color of the dyeing that was seen there.
Natural as flowers and birds, had been painted in soft colors, red, purple,
green, and so on.
I met the dyeing technology that was extended to Kaga from Kyoto for the
first time.
Midori Yamada's design was reborn in a Obi (belt) of Kaga Yuzen.
As to play the jazz rhythm, her "Ronda" was drawn with colorful color.
I think it is fusion of Kyoto Yuzen and Kaga Yuzen.
It was just match the word "To gentle shades as Hannari" .
I want to walk the streets of New York wearing this Obi (belt).
More to the world, I want to tell the wonders of Japanese technology and
Japanese.
