今年５月、舞台となる国際会議場を下見した。
ワクワクするよりも、少し足が震えた。
TV中継されるような空間で、こども達がどんな話をするのだろうと。
主催者の浅野敬子さんは、アイディアマン。
次々と飛び出す彼女の壮大な構想を、裏方でまとめ上げるのが私たちの役目。
東京とニューヨークのやり取りだけでは、敬子さんの発想には追いつけない。
13時間の時差の中、朝起きると未読メッセージが数珠繋ぎになっていた。
７月、ようやく足並みが揃い出したのを実感した。
コアメンバーが、それぞれ自分の役割を、誰が決めるわけではなく、
ひたすら突き進んでいるのを感じた。きっと大丈夫。
農水大臣の御挨拶に始まり、開会宣言、ディスカッション、
こども達のプレゼン、閉会宣言。
途中サプライズで、SDGsのキャラクターが会場に飛び込む。
こども達が牽引すべきサミットだから、行き先はまるで見えない。
でも、裏方ではしっかりした台本や進行表が必要で、
そんなこんなをまとめていくのが、私のミッションだった。
当日、会の進行中、一番緊張していたのは私だったかもしれない。
最後に敬子さんの目から涙がこぼれた時、
彼女が人をまっすぐに信頼する気持ちが、企画の成功を導いたのだと実感した。
スタッフそれぞれの力を信じて、しっかり任せてくれることが、
これだけの人たちの心を動かすのだと思うから。
こども達を信じて、私たちを信じてくれた彼女に、
ひたすら感謝したいと思った。
誰かを救ったり、大きな解決策がその場で見つかるとは思わない。
国境や宗教、人種の壁を超えて、
こども達が輪になって考える機会を提供することが、最大の目的。
2018年8月8日、地球こどもサミット開催。
屈託ないこども達の意見が飛び交い、オトナ先生達はきっとそれぞれに、
子供の頃の無垢な気持ちを思い出していたに違いない。
歴史の１ページが刻まれたことを、たくさんのメディアが賞賛してくれた。
次はドイツ、そしてニューヨークで開催予定。
こども達の未来のために。ぜひ見守っていてください。

In May this year, we previewed the international conference hall that will be the venue.
My feet trembled a bit than I was excited.
I wondered what kind of stories children will talk about in a space like TV live.
The organizer Ms.Keiko Asano was an idea-woman.
It was our duty to summarize her spectacular idea that jumps out one behind the other.
Just by exchanging between Tokyo and New York, I cannot keep up with Keiko's idea.
In the 13 hours of time difference, when I woke up in the morning unread messages were sticking together.
In July, I finally realized that our steps were in order.
Each core member decided their own role, not who decided,
I felt that we were going all the way. I felt we were OK.
Starting with the greeting of Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, opening declaration, discussion, presentation, and closing declaration.
Miraiger, SDGs' character, cut into the venue through the surprise.
A summit will be driven by children, so we cannot see the destination.
But on the other side we need a solid script and progress table,
It was my mission to put such a thing together.
On the day of the meeting, I might had been the most nervous.
When tears spilled from the eyes of Keiko in the end,
I felt that her pure mind that she trust people led to the success of the project.
She believed the power of each staff,
So it moved people's hearts.
I just wanted to thank her that she believed children and us.
We did not think we save someone or find a big solution on the spot.
Beyond borders, religion, race barriers,
Providing opportunities for children to think in the circle was the greatest purpose.
August 8, 2018, the Earth Children's Summit was held.
We welcomed pure opinions of children.
All adults might remembered our innocent feelings when we were children.
A lot of media praised the fact that one page of history was engraved.
Next one will be held in Germany, New York.
