いわゆるセレブな家庭では、女房子供は郊外にあるサマーハウスで過ごさせて、御主人だけが平日は街に戻って仕事をしたりする。
「週末料金」が加算される日本のホテル事情と違って、ニューヨークではビジネス会議の開催される平日の方が週末よりも室料が高いというのも納得である。
そんなマンハッタンとはいえ、ここの人口密度だけは年中かわりなくすごい。
年末のカウントダウンでも有名なタイムズスクウェア。
先週末は地元のライブハウスのコンサート会場が設置されていた。
熱狂する若者たちの姿に酔いしれる。
まさに世界の中心を感じるパワースポット。

It was just a power spot that felt the center of the world.
