2019年8月8日。
早朝８時過ぎから、スタッフがショウアップして受付準備を開始。
９時前には、全国47都道府県代表の高校生が集まり始める。
外気温30度越えの猛暑日、衆議院会館にいつもと違う空気が漂う。
多目的ホールでは、10時から「OCEAN’s 47」が始まった。
「地球こどもサミット」と日本財団の「海と日本PROJECT」の新しい企画。
「海のゴミ拾い」や「海の勉強会」という先行イベントも含めて、
「日本の海を守るために、こどもたちができること」を一緒に考える機会を、
たくさん提供してきた総決算が、この日の勉強会となった。
平行して、「地球こどもサミット」のリハーサルが進められた。
この日初めて顔を合わせた「こども大使」達に、サミット概要を説明する。
ディスカッションの質問に、早くも子ども達の活発な意見が噴出するが、
ある程度で止めておくことで、本番へのパッションを持続させてもらう。
午後１時、いよいよ「地球こどもサミット2019」の開幕。
世界15カ国を代表26人の「こども大使」、そして36人の「おとな先生」が、
「海洋プラスチックゴミ」について、様々な意見を交わした。
海のない国から来た子どもも、山から流れる川はいずれ海に繋がり、
世界は１つの海で繋がっているのだと学ぶ。
街にゴミ箱が少ないからポイ捨てが減らないのだと子どもが問いただすと、
各省のおとな先生は、しどろもどろになって返答する。
厳しく分別されたゴミは、将来どうなっていくのだろうという疑問には、
世界に誇れる日本のリサイクル技術について、「おとな先生」が教えてくれる。
本当はテーマなんて、何だって良い。
国籍や肌の色や宗教の違いを超えて、子ども達が手を繋いで仲良く話し合う。
そんな機会を提供するのが「地球こどもサミット」。
大人にも子どもにも、70億分の１の責任があることを知って欲しい。
家族や親戚といった枠を超えて、世代を超えて、100年後の地球を考えよう。
持続可能な循環型社会が実現したら、そこにはきっと平和な世界が待っている。
「地球こどもサミット2019」無事、閉幕。
そして「地球こどもサミット2020」の企画は、もう走り始めている。

It was a new project of “The Earth Children Summit” and Nippon Foundation's “Sea and Japan PROJECT”.
"OCEAN's 47" was an opportunity to think together about what children can do to protect the Japanese sea, including pre-events such as "Picking up sea trash" and "Sea study session".
The total results that we provided a lot became the study session for this day.
In parallel, the “The Earth Children Summit” was rehearsed.
An overview of the summit was given to the “Kids Ambassadors” that we met for the first time on this day.
Children's lively opinions sprouted as many to the discussion questions.
By saving the answer at a certain extent, I made them to have the passion for the production last.
At 1 pm, "The Earth Children Summit 2019" has finally begun.
26 “Kids Ambassadors” representing 15 countries and 36 “Adult Teachers”
They exchanged various opinions about “Ocean Plastic Problem”.
Even children who come from countries without sea studied that the river flowing from the mountains will eventually connect to the sea.
Kids learned that the world is connected by one sea.
When the child asked that littering did not decrease because there were few trash cans in the city,
Each ministry's adult teacher responded in barely manner.
In the question of what will happen to the trash that is strictly separated,
“Adult teacher” told them about Japan's world-class recycling technology.
We really don't care about the theme.
We wish children go hand in hand and discuss each other beyond nationality, skin color and religion.
“The Earth Children Summit” provides such an opportunity.
We want to let adults and children know to have a one seventy billionth responsibility.
Let's think about the earth 100 years from now, beyond generations, beyond families and relatives.
If a sustainable recycling society is realized, there will surely be a peaceful world.
