強烈な直射日光が降り注ぐ大荒野に、
「カスティーヨ」と呼ばれるピラミッドがそびえ立つ。
マヤの最高神ククルカン（羽毛のある蛇）が祀られている。
ピラミッド４面の階段の合計は364段。
最上段の神殿を足すと365段。まさに暦のピラミッド。
神殿、球戯場、天文台など、見どころがいっぱい。
