ニューヨークという大都会で、ふと寂しくなった時。
同じ学び舎で過ごした、同窓生の存在に救われることがある。
在学中は面識がなかったとしても、離れた場所で繋がる絆は頑なだ。
大学の大先輩でもあるアーティストにお声掛けいただいて、
地下鉄アートのエキジビションに行ってきた。
オープニングレセプションには大勢のファンが集まって、
それぞれが、それぞれの地下鉄アートへの想い出を語り合っていた。
留学生時代、想像していた以上の勉強の大変さに音を上げそうになった。
日本の友人達から送られてくる楽しい宴の写真さえ見られなくなり、
やり場のない想いを抱えて地下鉄に乗り込んだ時、
ホームレスが歌う「アベマリア」の声に救われた。
顔を上げると、駅のホームにステンドグラスのアートがあった。
ありふれた日常に、アートがあふれる生活。
たくさんの人々の、たくさんの想いを乗せて走るニューヨークの地下鉄に、
希望の光を感じた。
50年以上もニューヨークで活動されている先輩の偉業もさることながら、
彼女が自ら頭を下げて後輩に御挨拶されてまわる姿が印象的な夜だった。
私もあんな風に生きたい。
I went to the subway art exhibition since I was invited by a senior of my
university.
The opening reception was so crowded by many fans.
Respectively, they talked the memories to each of the subway art.
Students age, I had hard time to study more than I had imagined.
Even I was no longer to enjoy seeing the photos of fun feast that Japanese
friend sent me.
When I boarded the subway by suffering with unfocused feelings
I was saved by the voice of "Ave Maria" that a homeless sang.
When I looked up, there was a stained glass art at the plat home of the station.
In New York, to the common every In New York, to the common every day and
life art are overflowing.
I felt the light of hope in the New York subway which runs putting a lot of people
and thought.
Even more than the feat of seniors that have been active more than 50 years in
New York,
I was impressed that she greeted to junior in polite.
I also want to live like that.
