近所の酒屋で、たまたま手にしたのだという。
私の大好きなワインを知っていたかのような偶然の気遣いが、
サンクスギビングの「感謝」をもっと大きくしてくれた。
「Far Niente」（何もしない喜び・自由に、気ままに）というネーミングは、
コロナ禍で仕事が停滞して焦る私に、少し肩の力を抜くよう諭しているのか。
コルク栓を抜くと、芳醇なシャルドネの香りが部屋に溢れる。
久しぶりに嗅いだ香りに、いろんな思い出が蘇る。
匂いの記憶は、儚いからこそ記憶の底に刻まれる。

A friend brought me a gift for Thanksgiving.
She had chosen it by chance at a local liquor store.
The coincidental thoughtfulness, as if she knew about my favorite wine, made my "THANK" of thanksgiving just got a lot bigger.
The name "Far Niente" (the joy of doing nothing, free and uninhibited) tells me to relax a little bit; I'm impatient to get back to work due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
When I pulled the cork, the mellow aroma of Chardonnay filled the room.
The scent, which I haven't smelled in a long time, brought back many memories.
The memory of a smell is fleeting, which is why it's engraved in the bottom of the memory.
