毎年この時期になると「Autumn in New York」の映画を思い出す。
2000年秋、私がニューヨークに留学していた頃に公開された大人の物語。
リチャード・ギアが恋人とマンハッタンの街を歩く姿がカッコ良くて、
あんな風に大人の恋をしてみたいと妄想した。
木々が紅く色づいていくセントラルパークの光景が、あまりにも美しくて、
そのシーンをみるだけで涙が溢れ出た。
不治の病に侵されていた彼女には、やがて死にゆく運命が待っている。
季節の移り変わりは、すなわち恋人たちに残された時間の経過を映し出す。
昨年二人で見た光景を、今年は一人で見るせつなさ。
でもそこにまた新たな光景が加わっていくからこそ、人生は美しい。
秋の午後を楽しむニューヨーカーの景色に、今自分が入り込んでいる。
少し歯がゆい、居心地の悪さを感じながら、
それはきっと、心でいつも海の向こうを考えているせいだと腑に落ちる。
Every year at this time, I remember the movie “Autumn in New York”.
An adult love story released in the fall of 2000 when I was studying in New York.
Richard Gia walking in Manhattan with her lover looked very cool,
I wanted to love someone in that way.
The view of Central Park, where the trees turn red, was so beautiful.
My tears overflowed just by looking at the scene.
A lady was suffering from an incurable disease and was destined to die.
The changing season reflected the passage of time left for the lovers.
The scene you saw with someone last year might change to lonely scene.
But life is beautiful because new scenes can be added to it.
I am now in the New Yorker view of the autumn afternoon.
I have a bit different feeling, since I am always thinking of somewhere beyond the sea.
