The Okide burial mound is a post-anterior-round burial mound constructed by cutting off and reshaping the tip of a hill 40m above the Onga River.
It is approximately 68m long, 40m in diameter at the back, and 26m wide at the front.
The front part of the tomb is two-story and the back part is three-story, with thatched stones in front.
Haniwa (clay figurines) are vase-shaped, cylindrical, morning glory-shaped, and house-shaped, and house-shaped haniwa in particular were placed at the top of the front section and the top of the back section.
A morning glory type Haniwa with a picture of a ship was excavated from the front part, and it is assumed that it depicts a ship carrying the soul of the buried person leaving for the Land of Hades.

As for the burial facilities, a pit stone chamber was built in the rear circle, and a split bamboo-shaped stone coffin (2.8m long, 0.77m high, and 0.73m wide) made of sandstone was placed in the center of the chamber.
Three types of stone armor (three hoe-shaped stones, two wheel stones, and two ishishikushiro), the only ones found in Kyushu, were excavated, suggesting that the tomb belonged to someone with strong ties to the Yamato regime.
