愛知県犬山市にある国指定史跡「青塚古墳」


The Aozuka Tumulus is a national historic site in Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture.



古墳時代前期の典型的な大型前方後円墳で、後円部の高さに比べて

前方部は低く細長いのが特徴だが、墳丘が前方後円形の基壇の上に

構築されており、後円部3段、前方部2段となっている。


It is a typical large anterior and posterior circle burial mound of the early Kofun period, and is characterized by the fact that the anterior part is low and elongated compared to the height of the posterior part.

段ごとの平坦面には壺型埴輪が約2m間隔で並び、

前方部の頂上には方形壇を囲んで円筒埴輪、朝顔型埴輪が並ぶ


On the flat surface of each level, vase-shaped terra-cotta tomb figurines are lined up at intervals of about 2m, and cylindrical terra-cotta tomb figurines and morning glory-shaped terra-cotta tomb figurines are lined up around a square platform at the top of the front section.



壺型埴輪は胴長形・しもぶくれ形の2種類あり、

高さ約60-70㎝、口縁部径約35㎝、

底部には円形孔が開けられ、表面には赤色顔料が塗られる


There are two types of haniwa: long-bodied and blistered. 60-70cm high, 35cm in diameter at the mouth, the bottom has a circular hole and the surface is painted with red pigment.



古墳全体は川原石の葺石でおおわれている。


The entire tomb is covered with thatched stones made of Kawahara stone.



やや不定形な盾形の周壕と外提があり、

周壕を横切って古墳に向かう通路(陸橋部)があった。


There was a slightly irregular shield-shaped shelter and outer moat, and a passage (overpass) across the shelter to the tomb.



出土物:埴輪(壺形埴輪、円筒埴輪など)、鏃形石製品3点

築造はAC350年ごろ(古墳時代前期)


Built in the middle of the 4th century (early Kofun period).


別称「茶臼山古墳」または「王塚」ともいわれる。

また天正12(1584)年の小牧長久手の戦いの際には

秀吉陣営の砦として使用されたことから、別名「青塚砦」とも呼ばれている。



Also known as "Chausu-yama Kofun" or "King Mound". Also known as "Chausuzan Kofun" or "King's Mound", it was used as a fort by the Hideyoshi camp during the Battle of Komaki Nagakute in 1584, and is therefore also called "Aozuka Fort".


被葬者は明らかでないが、近くにある大縣(おおあがた)神社では

『先代旧事本紀』「天孫本紀」に見える邇波県君(にわのあがたのきみ)の祖の

大荒田命(おおあらたのみこと)の墓と伝承しており、

現在も毎年同社による祭祀が行われている


The person buried here is not known, but the nearby Ohagata Shrine says that it is the tomb of Oharata-no-mikoto, the ancestor of Niwa-no-Agata-no-kimi, who is mentioned in the "Old Chronicle of Ancient Matters" and "The Chronicles of the Magi".
