群馬県北群馬郡吉岡町の三津屋古墳
（天皇系由来の正八角墳）

先日NHKで放映された「飛鳥の八角形古墳」で
八角形は天皇系由来として紹介されていました。
今回は前回の伊勢塚古墳（74）に続き
群馬県二つ目の八角墳である三津屋古墳です。

駐車場から下ってきます。
135度の角度を持つ二段目
丘陵にある住宅地の隅に数台分の駐車場があり、
そこから歩いて3分ほど下っていくと
全国でも発見例の少ない全角135度の正八角形墳が見えてくる。

この正八角形はAC650年以後の主に天皇陵に採用された形式で、
全国でも極めて珍しいもの。

本古墳は葺石や墳丘の陵角が良好に残り、
立体的にその存在が確かめられた唯一の例として全国から注目を浴びている。

墳丘は二段築成で、対角間の長さ約23.8m・残存高約4.5m、
1辺の長さは下段約9m・上段約6m、葺石・周溝を備える。
The mound is a two-tiered construction, with a diagonal length of 23.8 m and a remaining height of 4.5 m. The length of one side is approximately 9 m for the lower tier and 6 m for the upper tier, and it is equipped with thatched stones and circumferential grooves.
破壊された石室（公開されている）
土を幾層にも版築して造られた工程がよくわかる
ピンボケで見つらいが乱石積みが一部に残っている
埋葬施設は南側に開口する横穴式石室で、全長約7.5ｍだったと推定されている。
発掘調査時には既に盗掘・破壊され、一部に切石を使用した
自然石の乱石積みが残っている。
The burial facility was a stone chamber with a side opening on the south side, estimated to have been about 7.5 m long.
At the time of excavation, the site had already been excavated and destroyed, and some natural stone masonry using hewn stones remained.
石棺等も跡形もない
副葬品は見つかっていない。
No burial accessories were found.
築造はAC660-690年ごろ（７世紀後半）と推定

現在古墳は石室を除いて本来の姿に復元整備されている。
The tomb has been restored to its original state, except for the stone chamber, and is now open to the public.
