茨城県ひたちなか市・十五郎穴（横穴墓群）

先日NHKで放映された「ミステリアス古墳スペシャル」でも取り上げられた
装飾古墳「虎塚古墳」から畑のあぜ道・林道を歩いて10分程のところに、
AC700-800年ごろ（古墳時代終末期から奈良時代）に崖に彫られた
横穴墓群が現れる。
About a 10-minute walk from the Torazuka burial mound, a decorative burial mound that was featured in the "Mysterious Burial Mound Special" broadcasted by NHK the other day, along a field road and forest path, a group of side-hole graves carved into a cliff around 700-800 AC (the end of the Kofun period to the Nara period) appears.

沼地の段丘上にある
これが十五郎穴横穴墓群で、総数は300基を超えると考えられており、
うち館出支群の一部34基が茨城県史跡に指定されている。

玄門部分
入口に階段があるものも
羨道と玄室が複雑に入り組んでいる
天井に穴があり上とつながっているものも
奥壁には何かの模様が見えるが、当時のものか現代か不明
横穴墓は凝灰岩を繰り抜いて造られており
前庭部・羨道・玄門・玄室などから構成
古墳時代の横穴式石室と類似している。
The tombs are made of tuff and consist of a vestibule, an enclosure, a doorway, and a chamber.
It is similar to the stone chamber of the Kofun period.
副葬品は32号墓出土の銅製金具方頭大刀ほか、
人骨、須恵器、勾玉、切子玉、鞘尻（さやじり）金具や
正倉院所蔵品との類似点が見られる刀子、蕨手（わらびて）刀など
The burial accessories include a large bronze sword with metal fittings excavated from Tomb 32, human bones, Sue ware, jade beads, faceted jade, metal fittings for scabbards, and swords with similarities to those in the Shosoin collection.
なお十五郎穴の名称の由来は、
この地に曽我兄弟の十郎・五郎が住んでいたという
伝承からうまれたとのこと
The name "Jugoro-ana" comes from the legend that the Soga brothers, Juro and Goro, used to live here.
