女狭穂塚(めさほづか)古墳と
陪塚(ばいちょう・171号墳)
Mesahozuka Kofun and Jury Mound (Mound No. 171) in the Saitobaru Kofun Tumulus Group, Miyazaki Prefecture
女狭穂塚古墳の被葬候補者は宮内庁により
木花開耶姫(このはなさくやひめ)とされている。
The burial candidate for the Mesahozuka burial mound is believed to be Princess Konoha-Sakuya by the Imperial Household Agency.
一方女狭穂塚古墳は仲津山古墳
(応神天皇皇后の仲姫命の陵・古市古墳群・全長290m・高さ26.2)を
元に築造されていることから、被葬者を
仁徳天皇妃の日向髪長媛(ひむかのかみながひめ)とする説がある。

出土品としては、円筒埴輪・形象埴輪(家形・鶏形・盾形・冑形・肩甲形・短甲形・草摺形埴輪)があり、畿内的埴輪とみられている。
