本日紹介するのは・・・群馬の白石稲荷山古墳(しろいしいなりやま)古墳     (3)
 Today I will introduce you to the Shiroishi Inariyama KOFUN (3) in Gunma Prefecture.
 

       群馬県には全長200Mを超える古墳(いずれご紹介)もあるが、

       In Gunma Prefecture, there is a burial mound that is over 200 meters long (to be 

       introduced later).

 

                 車窓からいきなり驚きNO1の古墳と言えば
         From the car window, I was suddenly surprised to see the No. 1 ancient tomb.

 

 

                   やっぱり白石稲荷山古墳!

                    Shiraishi Inariyama Kofun!

 


   車で走っているとゴルフ練習場うらの丘に突然、巨大な前方後円墳が姿を現す!

   As you drive along the road, a huge anterior-posterior mound suddenly appears on the 

   hill behind the driving range!

 


               誰もが「なんだあれは?」となるのだ!
              Everyone asks, "What is that? What is that?

 

 

 

                        さてこの古墳!  
                        Well, this tomb! 


         全長155M、円の直径は92M、高さは13.5Mで、5階建てに相当する。
         The total length is 155 meters, the diameter of the circle is 92 meters, and 

         the height is 13.5 meters, which is equivalent to five stories.


         

         前後とも三段づくりで、表面には石(葺石・ふきいし)が葺かれている。
         both the front and the back of the tomb are built on three levels, and the  

         surface is thatched with stones (fukiishi).

 

 

     

     古墳の後ろ側の円部分には円筒型と朝顔型の埴輪(はにわ)が、ぐるり

     The back part of the tomb is covered with cylindrical and morning glory shaped 

      haniwa (clay figures).


             墳頂には家形埴輪などが置いてあった。
             At the top of the mound, there was a house-shaped haniwa (clay 

             figurine).

 

 


 

造られたのは5世紀初頭・AC400-420?までさかのぼる 
It dates back to the early 5th century (400-420 AC). 


   1933年に行われた調査で後ろ側の円部分から二つの埋葬施設が発見された。
    In a survey conducted in 1933, two burial facilities were discovered in the back part  

    of the circe.


         いずれも、上から穴を掘って、底に砂利を敷き、石で壁をつくり、
         In both cases, a hole was dug from above, the bottom was covered with 

           gravel, and the walls were built with stones.

         棺には、頭を石枕に乗せた遺体に碧玉製勾玉や鉄刀などを納めて、
          The coffin contained a body with its head on a stone pillow, a jasper and an 

          iron sword.


                最後に粘土で蓋をした構造をしている。 
                 and finally covered with clay. 

 

          すぐ近くに藤岡歴史館があり、古墳などの資料が見れる!

                 足を運んではいかがでしょう!

        The Fujioka History Museum is just around the corner, where you can see  

        materials about the giant tumulus, Nanakoshiyama tumulus, and the Prince's 

        Mound tumulus, so why not visit!

 

            埴輪などの出土品は東京国立博物館で保管されている。 

         The unearthed artifacts such as haniwa (clay figurines) are kept in the Tokyo 

          National Museum.
