【オンラインで素敵な版画展に参加しませんか？】
私も陰ながら関わり続けている、ボランティア団体CWAJ。
1949年、戦後間もない頃、アメリカ人と日本人の女性達が、若き女学生に夢を与えるために設立した団体です。
これまで、数え切れないほどの女学生達と、障がいを持ちながら力強く夢を追いかける学生達に、
無返還の奨学金を毎年贈呈してきています。
奨学金の原資としてのファンディング活動として、CWAJの毎年恒例のイベントがこの「現代版画展」。
版画界のレジェンドとも言われる作家さんの作品から、駆け出しの学生さんの作品まで、
心を込めて厳選した素晴らしい作品達が展示販売されます。
今年は新型コロナウイルスの影響を鑑み、初のバーチャル版画展に挑戦！
リアルなギャラリーに足を運ぶ代わりに、どこにいてもその一端を味わう事ができます。
手軽に購入できるものも多数あります。
時代が大きくシフトしている中、SDGsなども各地で取り組みが進んでおりますが、
まさにSustainable(持続可能)な団体として、約70年に渡り、未来への種を撒き続けてきたCWAJの、
新時代の皮切りとなる渾身の取り組みに、宜しければ是非ご参加下さい

[Join us for a virtual Print Show]
A historical volunteer group which I have been partially involved called CWAJ
(College Women’s Association of Japan) is having an online Print Show.
CWAJ was established by American and Japanese ladies back in 1949,
only few years after WWII, to help shining young women to achieve dreams.
Ever since, CWAJ has been giving no repayment scholarships to numerous
female students in bound and out bound, as well as those bright handicapped students.
As a biggest and yet cultural fundraising event,
Print Show has been held every year to exhibit and sell numbers of great printed art works
of all sorts of artists from students to legends.
This year, its their first challenge to do it completely online
as a “virtual print show” considering the current circumstances.
As CWAJ is now stepping into another era of great shift of the society,
its sustainable activities that keep on planting seeds for bright future are valuable enough to be supported.
My mom has been working as one of a core organizers of the Print Show for about 10 years now.
There are wide range of prices as well.
