(The original blog in Japanese is here. 「小さな応援歌」)

This is a quote from some blog.

"XX (the name of the perpetrator group)'s attacks are like a computer game, with stages, and as you clear them, you move on to the next level and the difficulty increases.

To be honest, if you can clear this game, you'll be at the level of a saint, and it's a game that tests your humanity."

As I read it, I thought, "I see."

The words "testing humanity" and "saint level" are used.

I thought it was an interesting way of looking at simple harassment.

It's true that if you're a saint, you could clear all of this.

We're not saints, but each time we clear it, I feel like our humanity is polished.

Patience, changing your way of thinking, self-discipline, calmness, controlling your emotions, how to accept suffering... It can be difficult if you're not humble.

If you're conscious, you'll notice your own growth in that direction. And some people take pride in it.

This kind of thinking is not limited to the Bible. Bible says,

"Gold is refined in fire,
but men are refined in the furnace of humiliation" (Sirach, Chapter 2, Old Testament)

The targeted individuals are being burned in a fierce furnace.
It is natural that some cannot bear it. So no one can blame them.
But let us be conscious, be strong-willed (and have some faith, I think), and turn this trial into good.

I believe that the greater the suffering, the greater the growth.

I pray for you every day.
In my little prayer,
and in the great prayer known as the Mass.
