高校生の頃、父のLPコレクションの中から見つけたアルバム

『Jazz At The Santa Monica Civic 72』

この中で、エラ・フィッツジェラルドが歌うこの曲が、すごく印象的で、何度も何度も聴いていた、自分にとっては思い出深い曲。

この曲が、アルバムの最初に入ることになり、感慨深いものがありました。

そう、収録時のエピソードもひとつ。

ライブでは何度も合わせてきた曲だったので、ピアノの遠藤征志さんとはほとんど打ち合わせをすることなく収録に臨みました。

1コーラス歌い終えた後、ピアノソロに入ってすぐ、あるフレーズを聴いた瞬間、目の前に曲の風景が突然広がっってきて、気持ちが更にググッと入っていきました。

その、あるフレーズについては、先日ご本人とも話しましたが、やはり事前に考えていたフレーズだったようで。。まんまと導かれてしまったようです（笑）
