Prince William takes Kate Middleton on drive in Aston Martin with Just Wed licence plates

AFTER stopping the world with a kiss, Prince William warmed billions of hearts by taking his new wife on an unexpected spin in an open-top sportscar with the licence plate:

With crowds cheering them on, the beaming newlyweds left their Buckingham Palace reception in Prince Charles's blue Aston Martin Volante and drove to nearby Clarence House for a few hours repose before their wedding dinner.

A learner plate was tied to the front of the car and trailing from the back were heart-shaped balloons, all courtesy of best man Prince Harry.

(因みに、Learner Plateとは、日本で言う仮免許を取得していることを示すPlateで仮免許取得者が運転するときは"L"と書かれたPlateを車につけます。Learner's Licenseを取ると、正規の運転免許所有者同行で路上での運転練習が行えます。恐らくここでは、新婚さんと言う意味と"Love"のdouble-meaningでLearner PlateをPrice Harryが付けたのでしょう)

The drive-yourself break reflected the relaxed and intimate spirit of the day, even if their wedding service at Westminster Abbey was watched worldwide by some two billion people and another one million lined the streets of London in celebration.

昨日の結婚式、よかったですね。Kate、おっとPrincess Catherineですね、とっても綺麗でした。改めて、おめでとうございま～す

Prince William、いきなりAston Martinに奥様を乗せて登場するとはやりますね　伝統的な皇室の堅苦しさを打ち破るようなこの行動、私は好きです。

結婚式前夜も、Prince WilliamとPrince Harryが普段着で街に出てきて、徹夜で陣取りしている人達に声をかけ握手をしていました。彼らの会話は皇室と市民の会話ではなく、友達同士の会話のようでした　彼らの市民に対して純粋に感謝の気持ちを伝えるSincereな態度、私はとてもいいと思いました。

皇室と一般市民の大きな垣根を崩すようなFriendlyな行動、私は個人的に大賛成です。だって結局は同じ人間ではないですか。日本の皇室ももう少しRelaxしてもいいのではないでしょうかね、、、

さて、ブログネタの"運転できる???"の質問に戻りますと、、、

-　私　⇒　Yes　です。でも私はAston Martinを運転する勇気はありません。だって擦ったりぶつけたりしたら大変だも～ん
