思い出深いのは下宿場所です。The apartment was memorable to me. 尼寺の離れで、It was a villa next to a nun temple. お風呂もなくて、裏山から庭に狸の親子が来ました。We even had no bath tubs, and a family of racoon dogs would come to the garden of the temple from a hill behind. 尼さんたちがパンなどあげていたようです。They came to eat bread which the nuns left in the garden. 本当の話で、友達が遊びに来た時に見せたら驚いていました。It was a true story, they surprised my friends who happened to come to see me.
銭湯がすぐそばだったのでそこに通いました。
I went to a public bath located just around the corner.
お金はなくて質素な暮らしでしたが、I didn't have much money and led a simple life, 風情のある場所で、but there were many other temples around blessed with natural scenery. 近くにいろいろなお寺もあり、自然の中で青春を過ごせたことを懐かしく思い出します。It was my good old days.
