Zero-toleranceというのが覚えたい表現ですね。Zero-tolerance is a key expression. この記事ではトランプ大統領の移民受け入れ拒否政策を表していました。In the article, it refers to former President Trump's policy to refuse any immigrants. 全く例外を許さない厳格なルールに使います。This is used for describing strict rules without exceptions. 他にもゼロから始まるフレーズはいろいろありますが、私が面白いと思うのはzero-sum gameです。While there are lots of phrases starting with zero such as zero gravity, what I like the most is zero-sum game. 一つの限られた物をみんなが奪い合い、自分が多く取れば相手が減り、逆なら自分が減るという状況を指します。It shows a situation where you and opponents fight each other to get more from a certain amount of something. 最終合計は損得ゼロになります。The total sum will be zero if you see the results. 反対の言葉は互恵的取引、もう一つは両損取引です。The opposites are win-win game or lose-lose game.
