Back so soon?
Might as well keep this blog thing going occasionally. The main purpose was to
chronicle London so I could go back and read it again in the future... but, whatever!
Work is as boring as it ever was... like I was never away. The prospect of a new job
is still looming though, so not all hope is lost yet.
The car is konking out again! Argh!
Makes for some scary rides to work,
I can tell you.
Still playing Street Fighter IV (when you-know-who) lets me. Went round Shanes
again tonight - Silent Hill is actually a decent game, ignore those negative reviews.
Sure, nothing will ever be able to top SH2, but there you go.
Got these in the post today, so that cheered me up ![]()
The End
Mission complete. It ended more suddenly than I imagined, so I didn't get time
to psych myself up, so to speak. Found out about 20 minutes before I left that the
project is done with. One more day would have been nice, but there you go.
Back to Worldwide House tomorrow. It will be like I was never away ![]()
My final chat with the head London honcho was promising though, he'll
do "what he can" to get me something more permanent, I'm also first in
the line for any potential testing projects in the future too.
I'll remember the staying over in the Hilton for 2 nights as a highlight, and
I'll miss the morning walk down City Road. *sigh* ... can I go back yet?
General round-up
Okay... the Hilton was nice, for 2 nights only it sort of felt like I was living
back in my old flat. Freedom, nice double bed etc... ah well, I won't be in
the 'bech for too much longer.
Both nights I went wandering the streets, looking for things to buy. Oxford
Street was stupidly busy both evenings. And... it seems that 90% of the people
are tourists that don't know where they're going. Grr... move out of my way!
Doing overtime yesterday was great, I love working at the weekend. But at
least I made a few quid out of it. One day off in 12 though is a bit harsh.
The project ends this week, and Wednesday more-than-likely will be my
last day. I'll miss the London vibe - as much as the amount of people is
annoying, there is certainly a lot of life in the city. Walking around
Peterborough yesterday, it was quite scary how empty it was.
I'll make the most of my last few days, then back to the same old
routine. The ever-nearing holiday to Tokyo, and good old Wimbledon, will
have to keep me going. Sayonara!
