I am contacting you to see if there is any programs you can offer to Japanese customers who were trying to get hold of their families in Japan since Thursday night. There are still parts of Japan that we cannot reach, and all we get is "please try again" messages in Japanese.
Many of Japanese customers would be charged for this dropped calls. Even though most of corporate business people would be able to afford to pay through their companies, I am afraid that many Japanese students cannot - especially if they are supported by their families in Northern Japan.
If you are able to come up with ANY DISCOUNT CODES, or programs, for any "non-connected calls" I would VOLUNTEER MY TIME to send press releases and to do a radio announcements (to Japanese corporations - I work with several Japanese medias in Los Angeles)
Thank you again for the wonderful services. I personally was able to get hold of my father in Sendai right away (but not after the Tsunami hit), and my mother and my brother in Chiba within 2 hours. I am very fortunate.

Verizon Offers Free Calls to Japan From March 11 to April 10
Verizon Wireless Customers Can Text to Japan for Free
NEW YORK – To help its customers contact loved ones in the aftermath of Japan’s devastating earthquake and tsunami, Verizon is enabling most wireless and residential customers to make free calls to Japan through April 10.
All Verizon Wireless post-paid customers will receive free calling to Japan from March 11 through April 10. Post-paid customers are those who receive a monthly bill from the company. In addition, Verizon Wireless post-paid customers will receive free text and multimedia messaging to Japan for the same time period.
Verizon Wireless has also made it easy for customers to text donations to a host of nonprofit organizations responding to the earthquake and subsequent tsunami. Customers can easily make a $10 donation by simply sending a text message and may choose from nine organizations aiding those in need in Japan.
All calls made from a Verizon residential landline to Japan will be rated at $0.00 per minute, from March 11 through April 10. Customers with Verizon World Plan (300, 500 or unlimited minutes of long-distance calling) can call Japan without using any minutes from their time-allotment blocks.
Additionally, Verizon Prepaid Phone Card charges for all long-distance calls placed to Japan from the U.S will also be waived from March 11 until April 10.
The company is also providing FiOS TV customers who are not subscribed to TV Japan with free access to the channel, through March 17. The channel location is 1770.
* Only long-distance usage charges associated with calls made from residential landlines terminating to wireline or wireless destinations in Japan will be waived from Mar. 11 – April 10. All other fees including taxes, surcharges, monthly recurring charges (MRCs), minimum spend levels (MSLs), monthly minimum charges (MMCs), etc will continue to apply. Post-paid calling card charges to Japan will also be waived.
** If long distance calling fees were charged, credits will be issued in a future bill statement.

取りあえず野党は震災対応に追われる菅政権の批判を控えているようですが、個人的に官首相の対応がこの緊急事態においてのんびりしすぎているような気がします．
確かにこのような時期に政治改革をしている時間はありません．でも、今こそ政治家は何のために存在し、国民からお仕事をいただいているのかと、考え直す必要があるのではないのでしょうか？

仙台は私の父の家がある地、福島は祖父が愛した地です （銅像はこちら）。 暖かいみちのくの皆様がこのような災難に遭われたことはとても悲しく思います．
アメリカから 小さな ”元気づけ”プログラムを今春送ります．
皆さん、がんばって！！！！
劇団だからといって劇だけをしていたら新しいファンは作れず、内輪騒ぎで終わってしまう．
幸い私たちは“変な劇団”と思われているので いまや変わったイベントを制作しても周りに驚かれなくなってしまった．
米国で一番浸透している日本文化と言ったらやはりアニメ。 旗揚げ前に我らArigato kaiの名をどうしたら一般メディアにだせるかと考えたのが ”LA COSPLAY"というイベント． １ヶ月前に提案し、ニューローズ（アメリカ人の劇団）から承諾を得て ”アリガト会のためのイベント”ということで 提案翌日に製作をはじめた。アメリカンアニメオタクは日本語を勉強している人たちがおおいのだからこれをきっかけに 彼らを劇場によびアリガト会のファンにしてしまおう、というのがねらいだ。
このイベントの中身はどんなものかというと、 お客さんにまずコスチュームで来場してもらう （ビジュアル的にニュースや記事に取り上げてもらいやすい）、事前にj－popアイドルを目指すアメリカ人をオーディションで６名えらびをゲスト審査員に当日Winnerを選んでいただく（"アニメリカン・アイドル” スター誕生アニメ版）、そしてゲスト審査員は有名な声優、プロデューサー、写真家（マイダーリン）を招待し、ショーの後サイン会をしていただく。
やはり宣伝期間が短かったのでお客さまのいりはいまいち。 しかしはじめてのイベントとしては内容がわりと充実。来場してくださった方には喜んでいただいた！

そして最後には脱いでjポップ様式美。 日本語がとても上手だった
のりのりクリスタルはオリジナル”私はキラッッッチャン”で盛り上げた。彼女の日本語の名前は吉良ちゃん、おそらくクリスタルがキラキラ光ることにちなんだのだとおもう。
優勝したキラは喜んで又をアッタッック！ 強かった．．．
オフィシャルt－シャツはS完売．M、L、xL、２xLはまだ在庫ありますよ～．
ファンは有名声優（チャーリー、トムケリー、タラ・ストロング）に囲まれて大喜び。 イベントを開催したかいあり！！！
実はドタキャン等のトラブルがおおく、メンバーのアイマンによってサウンドと照明はすくわれた！
イベントは金田空手道場のデモでオープン．また日本人で唯一のアメリカのアニメにレギュラーで出演している声優さんスズキダイスケサンにも審査員として参加していただいた．彼のプロフィールはこちら。
さてさて 舞台の裏ばなしはまた次回．
“行動力のある日本人は何処でも成功できる！” といつも私はえらそうに云っています．私たちには日本という小さな島国で周りの人間とともに和を作り上げることを強いられた生まれながらの協調性、そして厳しい教育に文句を言わず（言っても聞かれなかっただけなんですがね）ストイックに育てられた結果の我慢づよさが備わっています．
世界共通の成功の秘訣は 人に好かれる （好かれなきゃ人はついてきません）努力家さん達です．
しかし、私は努力はそんなに好きではありません． 昔から “努力”というとコツコツと暗いイメージがあって嫌でした．努力しなければできないなんて、達成しようとしていることに対して才能がない証拠ではないのか、というのかマイ哲学．
幼心に近所の花岡サンがさっさっさっさと短距離リレーを走っているのをみて、”あたしがあれだけ速く走るのにはどれだけの練習と筋肉痛を重ねなきゃあかんのか”と嫌気がさしたのを覚えています． 算数も数学も同じように 他の生徒達が１分で解ける問題が私は５分かかって空欄で提出したりしました． “自分に向いていないことを無理に上達しようなんて時間の無駄ですよ、”といつも （成績を全く気にしなかった母のお陰でもありますが）開き直っていました．
そのかわり、文系と美術は予習復習なし、遅刻してきてもらくちんで金賞はたびたび．理系の先生は “バカじゃないんだからやればできるのに．．”と仰ってくださったもの 理数系に関してはバカのまま短い学生生活が終わってしまいました．
じつはアメリカに移住してからのことですが 自分に numeric dyslexia / Dyscalculia 数字失読症があったことが発覚．昔から電話番号を間違えて書き取ったり、お金の金額が分かっているのに口に出せなかったことがよくありましたが、ただ単にドジでおっちょこちょいなだけだと思っていました．学習障害児だったのか！と感動を受け早速日本の母に時差を考えず電話をしました。
もし母が中学生の私に数学の偏差値を上げるための勉強を強いていたら、きっと劇団で稽古する時間も、のんびりとレンタルビデオ屋さんにいってアラバマ物語と巡り会うことも、徹夜でルーシーショーをみて喜劇のタイミングの研究なんてしている時間はなし、今の自分とは全く別の人間として、違う人生を歩んでいたことでしょう．
人間この地球での時間は決められています．私は苦手なことを習って標準人間にナルより、自分の長けていることに集中して、今まで、地理的、精神的、また表現者として 誰も到達したことのないところにいきたいと思っています．
それには行動力。そして、日本人ならではの”伝統を愛しむ心”が叡智として手を差し伸べてくれると思います．
“思い立ったらすぐ行動”でブルドーザーのように仕事をなしている私ですが、（意外かもしれませんが）先輩の話はよく聞き、成功談より失敗談から学び人様がおかした失敗をくりかえさないようにしています。 自分のおかした失敗も、ここでやめてしまったら負け犬だとおもい とりあえず勢いで乗り越えてしまいます．
どんな小さな夢でも大きな目標でも とりあえず行動してみてください． 意志というものは不思議で、 伝染病のようにひろがり その夢を共有してくれる “共友”が現れてくるはずですよ．
無計画者の私でさえ 異国で“共友”をみつけ 毎日あたらしい夢と希望の展開をかさねいるのですから。
