From the conversation between my mom and Kangen:
“Grandma, what does “miss” mean?”
“Why are you asking what “miss” means?”
Kangen sang, in a small voice,
a Japanese children’s song
titled “Donguri Korokoro”.
“Little rolling acorn was happy,
And he played for a little while
But soon he started to miss the mountain
He cried and the loach didn't know what to do”
“See? It says “miss” here!!”
How am I going to explain this?
“When I was staying at the hospital,
I couldn’t see Kangen.
Because I really wanted to see you,
my hearts ached.
It means that I miss Kangen.
Did you also feel the same?”
……!?
Well….
There should be some better ways to describe it!!!
I am disappointed myself when I am unable to explain well
the meaning of vocabularies to my kids. J
Missing…
How would you explain it?!
