There was some new information that I didn’t get

when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.

The chemo drugs are most likely to cause egg damage,

and they can stop the ovaries from working.

Age 20’s and 30’s may have a chance to recover their ovaries.

Egg freezing could be one option to consider if so wished.

But fertility drugs may potentially affect a woman's risk of developing breast cancer.

Also, one of the treatments for breast cancer,

hormone therapy is usually taken at least for 5 years.

So if you wish to have a baby,

you may be able to have a chance to give it a try

after chemo → lumpectomy → radiation,

and before hormone therapy.

That’s what Doctor explained to me.

(I think treatments vary according to

each patient’s condition and her cancer type.)

“I have two kids.

So I don’t really think of having another one.”

For some unknown reasons, I reacted tough.

To be honest, however,

as I grew up with my sister,

I was thinking that it would be nice

if Reika could have a younger sister,

or if Kangen could have a younger brother

who could be a great support for each other.

But I knew that it was too much of hope,

so I immediately binned it into the bottom of my heart.
