上記の講演をネットで観ました。
ジェノサイドを政策としてみることは知っていたけれど、
それに基づいて対策を考えるという思考をしたことが無かったため、
新鮮でした。
でもまだ講演者の意見に同意できない。
講演者が実際にルワンダなどの現地に行って、
実際に加害者と被害者の双方から話を聞いているから、
同じ土俵の上では議論できないこともはっきりしているんだけど、
同意できない。でも、ジレンマは感じる。
でも、同意できない。
やはり、命の現場に行ったことが無ければ、
重みのある思考ができないのか。
生のありがたみは甥っ子を見て感じることが出来るけど、
死の目線には自分は立てていない。
しかも選択の余地のない死に。

I saw this lecture.
Mainly, Prof. Goldhagen says that genocide has to be redefine and be dealt with policy.
He thinks genocide as one of the political tool to achieve policy goal, eliminationism.
Therefore, genocide is not a thing which is occasional and has no solution.
His solution is to make political leader not to choose genocide policy.
In detail, raising the cost of it by showing the threat of being enemy of humanity, using bounty or bombing.
One of his strongest opinions is to rethink about bombing policy as an effective tool to prevent genocide policy.
He reached this idea not only by theories but also collecting testimonies in Rwanda.
I cannot agree with his opinion, but I have to go the field too and think an alternative idea.
