There is the following line within the lyrics of one of the oldies sung by Frank Sinatra and his daughter Nancy Sinatra in duet titled "Something Stupid."
オールディーズのひとつ、フランク・シナトラと彼の娘、ナンシー・シナトラがデュエットで歌う「サムシングステューピッド - 何か馬鹿なこと」という歌の歌詞の中に、以下の一行があります。
Then I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like "I love you."
よりにもよって、そんな時、僕は「愛してる。」とか、何か馬鹿なことを口走って、ムードをぶち壊してしまうんだ。
The word "go" does not just mean to start to physically move toward somewhere like a Japanese word "Iku." The word "go" here is to start some action; like, in other words, to start to utter.
「go」という単語は、何処かに向かって体を動かし始める、日本語の「行く」という意味だけではありません。ここで言う「go」は、動作を始める、いわゆる口にすることを「始める」というような意味です。
Try not to equalize or establish congruency between English words and those Japanese words in the dictionary.
辞書にある語彙と英単語をイコールサインで結んだり、同一性を決定したりしないようにしましょう。
Those words you see in your dictionaries are merely the concept of the word you look up. As you may have experienced, if you replace an English word with a Japanese equivalent, it turns out to be a very unbecoming Japanese translation, right? Do not map an English word to any particular Japanese words. Get the idea of the word by reading many Japanese equivalent words.
辞書に出てくる語彙は、単に引いた単語のコンセプト（概念）でしかありません。それが証拠に、和訳するとき、辞書に出てくる語彙を使うと、日本語としては非常におかしくなる場合がほとんどでしょう？英単語を日本語の語彙に引き当てることはしないようにしましょう。その語の日本語の訳語を沢山読み、その感覚を覚えて下さい。
