■1971年にりりーすされたシングル曲で、中学当時この曲を聞いてThree Dog Nightを知り、大好きになりました。 結構逸話のある曲で、作曲はあのポール・ウィリアムズ。 元々カーペンターズの為に書かれましたが、リチャードが断り、それでThree Dog Nightに提供したこころビルボード総合４位、イージーリスニング（カーペンターズもここに分類されます）で１位の大ヒットとなりました。
■This single was released in 1971, and I first heard it in junior high school, which introduced me to Three Dog Night, and I fell in love with the band. It's a song with quite a story behind it; it was composed by none other than Paul Williams. It was originally written for The Carpenters, but Richard refused, so it was given to Three Dog Night, where it became a huge hit, reaching number 4 on the Billboard overall chart and number 1 in the easy listening category (which The Carpenters also fall into).
