MA by So Shi Te has the largest collections of Japanese Karakuri boxes and Himitsubako in Tokyo.

Karakuri group in Hakone produces new Karakuri puzzle boxes every year, but many of them are too easy and simple puzzle boxes, so we carefully select those which we find interesting and difficult to open.

We generally stock more than 35 different types of these puzzle boxes and new ones have constantly been coming in from time to time.

To purchase these boxes, please scroll down to the bottom of this page, so you can find more information about purchasing these boxes.

For full information, please visit our tax free online store .

This is traditional type Himitsubako puzzle box and we generally stock them at our store too.

The most popular puzzle box at our store is the Karakuri small box No.6

       Karakuri small box No.6

This is very small box with the size of about 5cm. It looks so simple, but the way it opens is very unique, so this is the most popular box at our store.

Karakuri small box No.7 comes in the second position for the popularity ranking at my store. It opens with only three slides, but the last slide is a bit tricky one, so many people find it hard to open.

This Karakuri small box No.5 looks like No.6 with different color, but the way it opens is totally different.

The New Himitsubako No.4 is the hardest puzzle box currently available at our store.

You need to slide 32 times to open, but you first have to find the particular sequence to open, so you are more likely to move more than 32 times to open ( I personally spent over an hour, but I couldn't open it). This is beautifully made puzzle box and I personally love it.

The Karakuri small box No.1 also opens with only three slides, but the second move is a little tricky one.

It just looks like a square cube and it is hard to tell if it is a box if anyone didn't tell you so. Beautiful little box.

Walk under the stars box is popular amongst females it is mostly because of the appearance, but also it is large enough to be used as a jewelry box. If you are looking for a gift for your girlfriend or wife, this might be the best choice.

Karakuri egg is very unusual box and many people find it hard to open, although the mechanism is relatively simple.

It will be a perfect gift for egg collectors.

The Karakuri dice is relatively large box with 8cm width and it looks so cool as an interior decoration, so this box is particularly popular amongst male customers. This also opens with very unusual mechanism rather than simple slides.

Well, I have just listed those Karakuri boxes which are popular at our store in Tokyo, but there are more different types available at our store in Tokyo, so if you are in Tokyo, please visit our store and try these puzzle boxes.
