Resident doctors have launched a television campaign in the hope of raising awareness about their struggle to maintain terms and conditions in New Zealand hospitals.
Ferragamo Ferragamo FerragamoThe campaign has attracted more than 500 signatures on a petition entitled "treating doctors well". That endorses the Resident Doctors Association's decision to "go public", according to president Dr Curtis Walker.
"DHBs are not prepared to listen, but it's quite clear from the number of people signing the petition so far that the public are," he said.
The public campaign has not impressed district health boards.
air jordanSpokeswoman Karen Roach air jordan said DHBs were "astonished" by the priorities of the RDA. "We had great difficulty getting the union to actually turn up to recent negotiations, and now we know why," Ms Roach said. "Given the significant issues at stake in these negotiations, it's disappointing to see the air jordan RDA embark on a public advertising campaign instead of spending time engaging with DHBs."
