What is in your opinion the FOOD of the FUTUR... Visualizza questo post su Instagram What is in your opinion the FOOD of the FUTURE? And, which is the most famous BLUE food? SPIRULINA! Spirulina is a popular green-blue superfood! Have you ever tried it? It has no FODMAPs and it is vary tasty! . Is Spirulina a bacteria or algae? Is it vegetarian or vegan? Spirulina is a Cyanobacteria... sooo.... is it a vegetable or a bacteria? . It gets its color from Photosynthesis, sooooo... it is vegetarian! . Its fame came when NASA announced that wanted to give it to astronauts as food. Since then, all sorts of therapeutic qualities have been attributed to this micro-algae... Spirulina is not actually an alga but it is a cyanobacterium of the genus Arthrospira, and this involves some specificities. . Certainly, spirulina is a precious source of protein and contains almost all the essential amino acids. Spirulina contains many vitamins, especially group A (3 to 6 grams of spirulina are enough to satisfy the daily needs of the adult, equal to about 900 micrograms) and group E and minerals such as calcium, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, copper and iron. It has also B12 vitamin, but... it seems that the B12 in algae isn't really absorbable by the body. Spirulina may contain cyanotoxins, bacteria, and traces of heavy metals (lead, arsenic, and mercury) if cultivated in suboptimal conditions and can induce allergies. If consumed in small doses it does not give problems and I recommend you check that the source you buy is safe and controlled! . . .
