Choline is one of the newest essential nutrients AKA vitamin J and it was only added to the list of required nutrients list of human by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) in 1998. Choline is an essential nutrient that's vital for properfunctioning of liver, brain, nerve, muscle, supporting energy levels and maintaining a healthy metabolism. Sometimes vitamin J is associated with the B-complex family of vitamins. Chicken liver is my extreme recharge of choline when I want an extra energy boost! However, you can eat milk, meat and especially eggs yolk, that provide a huge quantity of choline. I usually eat a lot of eggs,... I said, a lot! I love them sooo much! To avoid deficiency, vegetarians need to consume a variety of vegetables high in choline like cauliflower, asparagus, swiss chard, spinach, broccoli, Bruxelles sprouts, green peas, to reach the recommended men quantity of 550 mg of choline daily and women daily quantity of minimum 425 mg.
