My name is Rowe, and I moved to Singapore with my family (my Brazilian wife and three daughters) in January 2023. Recently, I visited a Japanese supermarket called "Meidi-Ya". I always think that Japanese vegetables are so beautiful, but their taste doesn't differ much. Even though the price of potatoes is significantly different, both are delicious.
This time, I bought something like this.
I bought eggs (6 pieces) for about 1,050 yen!
They were air-shipped from Japan.
I wanted to make sukiyaki after a long time, so I bought Japanese eggs.
Though they are expensive, when you consider that all the ingredients for sukiyaki cost about 4,000 yen, it's a bargain compared to eating out.
Well, for regulars at the supermarket "Akidai," it's a price that would make their eyes pop out.
But, since I'm getting used to Singapore, my hands reached for them, not my eyes.
when you break it beautiful round egg It was delicious.
By the way, I didn't feed my 3 year old daught raw egg.
(bonus) Calculating, one egg It costs 175 yen!
Awesome But the fact that so many are sold There are many people who buy it.
I have moved to Singapore with my family (my career-oriented wife and our 3-year-old daughter).
I am a stay-at-home dad named Law.
One day, the preschool teacher shocked me by saying,
"She (my daughter) can speak Chinese!"
"What?" Chinese?
I was surprised.
It turned out that my daughter could understand simple Chinese and could even name colors in Chinese. The teacher used color balls and asked my daughter what color they were in Chinese, and she answered with words I couldn't understand at all. The teacher said she was saying the correct words, and it was amazing.
At just 3 years and 1 month old, my daughter had begun to understand Chinese in addition to English.
About 30-40% of the students in the local preschool my daughter attends are Japanese, and there are two Japanese teachers, with the rest being primarily Singaporeans who speak only English or only Chinese. Therefore, English, Chinese, and Japanese are mixed together, and there are classes in each language.
Considering this, it may be natural for my daughter to learn Chinese, but as a parent, I didn't expect her to do so well.
It's frightening to think about what the future holds.
To improve my English skills, I'm trying my best to speak to my daughter in English (laughs).
