2023年1月より
家族（バリキャリ妻と3歳娘）で
シンガポールに移住しました
ローです。
移住して半年（6か月）経ちました。
ちょっと感想をまとめてみました。
①文化と人について
多様な人種と宗教
約７０％が中国にルーツを持つ人と聞いていたので
渡星前は中国系の人ばかりなのかなというイメージでしたが
想像以上に多様な人種だなと思ってます。
自分の住んでるエリアは欧米系多いですし
（訪米人の移住者もかなりいます）
インド系もかなり見かけます。
そして、祭りや休日がムスリムや仏教など色々な宗教のものがある
正直、国民の休日は何の日で休みなのかよく分かってないです(笑)
シンガポール人に関しては学校の先生が2人シンガポール人なので
少し話しました。
とても印象いいです。
先生曰く、国が急に成長したので
おじいちゃんや親は保守的な人が多く
保守的な人に育てられた人はとても保守的だよと、
そしてそのような人は結構多いそうです。
急成長した国ならではの問題は色々あるようです。
ま、どこの国も問題はたくさんありますからね。
移民の多い国ですが、それで豊かになるなら
それは大賛成ですけどね。

Since January 2023, my family (consisting of my career-oriented wife and our 3-year-old daughter) has relocated to Singapore. I would like to share my thoughts and impressions after six months of living here.
① Culture and People
Singapore is known for its diverse population, comprising people of various races and religions. Prior to moving here, I had the impression that the majority of the population had Chinese roots since I had heard that about 70% of the residents did. However, I have realized that the diversity is even greater than I imagined.
The area where I live has a significant presence of Westerners (including a considerable number of American expatriates). I also come across many individuals of Indian descent. There are festivals and holidays representing different religions, such as Islam and Buddhism. Honestly, I'm not entirely sure which days are national holidays yet (laughs).
I had a chance to speak with two Singaporean teachers at my school, and I must say they left a positive impression on me. According to them, the country experienced rapid growth, resulting in a significant number of conservative-minded individuals among the older generation and those raised by them. They mentioned that such conservatism is quite prevalent here. It seems that the rapid development of the country has brought along its own set of challenges. But well, every country has its share of problems.
Singapore is a country with a large immigrant population, but if it leads to prosperity and richness, then I am all for it.
