Newcastleから入って、Housestead / Steel Riggまで行ったら折り返して、Newcastleから帰る計画で再考してみました。
で、ウォーキングするとしたら、どの付近が良さそうか確認すると…

IrthingはWaterhead/Denton付近、North Tyne valleysがどの辺なのか確定できないけれど、Tyne川の支流にNorth TyneとSouth Tyneがあり、North Tyneの上流がChesterで通過するので、この付近と仮定。30マイルを踏破できないけど、やっぱりChesterからHousestead付近を中心に散策してみようっと。

A circular walk of around 8 miles taking in the magnificent Crag Lough and Housesteads Fort - an excellent example of a Roman infantry fort. The walk also takes in the famous Vindolanda, a working dig of great importance.
We recommend walking from West to East if the day is very windy as the prevailing wind is from the west.
