Romeo 1 Polished / NXT polarized lenses Fire / White rubber parts

Originally, the Romeo 1 didn't come in the polished color, but we received a request from a customer to change it from titanium to polished.

It's shiny and looks cool, right? 👍

I'll provide a detailed introduction of this ROMEO at the end.

Apart from that, I'd like to continue introducing various frames today.

Hello, everyone.

How are you all doing?

Lately, I've been receiving messages from overseas customers saying, "I'm going to Japan soon. Is it okay to visit LINEGEAR?"

There have been some changes, like "The dollar is strong, so it's cheaper to shop in Japan with yen when I visit."

The world has changed quite a bit due to COVID-19, so I don't expect things to return to exactly how they were before, but I hope things continue to improve.

Today, continuing from last time, I'd like to introduce some customer frames.

But first, a little update on recent events. パー

① At LINEGEAR, we've added XX-24K Seracote to our menu of Cerakote options.

We'll coat the orbitals in Bone Plasma just like the first generation.

They'll be in pretty much new condition.

I'd like to share some images shortly.

Normally, from the second generation onwards, the silver on the orbitals isn't painted but rather polished and coated with plasma.

However, for this frame in the image, we've fully applied Cerakote.

The lenses are fitted with LINEGEAR's 24K gold lenses.

Black rubber parts are installed, and...

We can perfectly restore it to a brand new condition.

We can accommodate both Cerakote on the orbitals and plasma coating on the material. The price is ¥22,000 (including the nose bridge tune-up fee).

If you have XX's 24K, please consider this option.

Also, this menu is available for other frames as well. You can customize Juliet, Romeo 2, Penny, and others with the same color. If you're interested, please contact the shop for inquiries.

② Status Report

Recently, at the request of a customer, I tried making oversized nose pads for Romeo 2.

I layered XX-sized nose pads over the original nose pads of Romeo 2.

This might have been previously featured on the blog as well.タラー

However, with this modification, the nose pads are significantly raised, which might be beneficial for those whose lenses often touch their cheeks.

I've also tried the same method for Juliet.

This involves attaching XX-sized nose pads on top of the Juliet's original nose pads.

Since it's a double attachment, it results in quite a significant height increase.

If you're interested, please feel free to contact us, and we'll be happy to make it for you. You can reach out to us through the shop's contact information.

下矢印 Gunmetal Plasma X-SQUARED

We've done a super refresh on the Plasma X-SQUARED and produced Gunmetal Plasma.

The surface of the frame is smooth, resulting in a glossy dark gray plasma finish.

It's currently available for sale at the shop, so please take a look at the product page for more details.

Now, let's proceed with introducing frames.

I'll focus on images.

<MARS X-METAL>

The lenses are Matte Black.

下矢印There is a hole like a crater in the lens. びっくり

I've also posted this on YouTube, so some of you may have seen it.

"I feel like Mars looks a bit flat and unsatisfying. Adding some vents to the lenses might enhance the design and make it more cohesive. Let's give it a try. パー"

This was the request, and I designed it accordingly.

However, since light enters through the holes, it might have been better to make the holes a bit smaller.

<MARS X Metal>

Rubbers parts green

The lenses are dark green.

The translucent green is beautiful, isn't it? 😊

<Penny Cerakote Matte Black>

This is from quite a while ago, but it's done with Cerakote, in matte black, with dark gray nose pins.

The lenses are NXT photochromic Flash Black.

The black Penny also has a very sharp look to it, which is quite cool indeed. グッ

<Penny X Metal>

The lenses are polarized Red Mirror.

The rubber parts are also red.

The combination of the X-Metal and red really works well together, doesn't it?

Many people use this pattern with Juliet, Penny, Romeo, and so on.

<Romeo 1 X-Metal>

The lenses are HD Red Mirror. 下矢印

Since the base lens of HD Red Mirror has a reddish hue, the red in HD Red Mirror lenses gives a slightly different red vibe compared to the Red Mirror lenses featured on Penny.

The rubber parts are red.

It's all coming together nicely.

<Romeo 1 Cerakote Matte Black>

Can you describe the matte feel?

Both the rubber parts and the lenses are black (Flash Black).

For those who love black, I recommend this all-black pattern.

When worn, it becomes a cool Romeo 1 with a tightened and sophisticated feel.
  __________________________________________________________________________________________

<Romeo 1 Titanium>

The lenses are prescription lenses in NXT photochromic Flash Copper.

Additionally, they have vents. 下矢印びっくり

  __________________________________________________________________________________________

<Romeo 1 IP GOld>

All screws have been replaced with gold ones.

IP Gold definitely exudes a sense of luxury and sophistication.

The rubber parts are red.

The lenses are NXT Polarized Premium Red. (It may look like Fire, but it's overshadowed by the surrounding gold. 笑い泣き)

It's flashy, but instead of going all gold, the use of a gradient from gold to orange to red ties the whole look together nicely.

It was an incredibly glamorous Romeo 1.

<Romeo 1 X-Metal>

Only the temple shocks have been replaced with red.

Just changing the color of one detail can make a significant difference in the impression it gives, right?

For models like Juliet, just simply changing the color of the gaskets or ear socks can bring out enough of your own originality.

<Romeo 1 X Metal>

The rubber parts are white, and the lenses are NXT photochromic Titanium Clear.

It's refreshing, and this pattern looks really cool, doesn't it? グッ

When the lenses adjust to the light, they look like this. 下矢印

The easily noticeable transition of the lens tint is irresistible. 爆 笑

The photochromic NXT Titanium Clear lens is very convenient as it can be used indoors and outdoors. Additionally, the silver mirror adds a shiny and stylish touch. I highly recommend everyone to give it a try.

<Romeo 1 X-Metal>

This is the Romeo 1 I mentioned at the beginning.

Originally, it was a titanium Romeo, but we polished it to make a polished finish.

Since titanium is painted, we first removed the coating,

Blow away dirt with sandblasting until every corner was clean,

Then we painstakingly polished it by hand with a grindstone until the base metal was smooth.

(Even if you polish it with a router, the base metal won't become smooth. The best way is to scrub it with a grindstone. It's tough, but worth it. アセアセ)

Scrub アセアセ

下矢印 The surface may still be rough, but the base metal has become smoother, with no more bumps or irregularities.

Furthermore, scrubbing. アセアセ

We kept repeating this process while changing the grit of the grindstone, aiming to smooth out the base metal until we reached the point where we wondered, "Will it shine if we polish it a bit more?"

下矢印Lastly, we polished it to a glossy finish using a buffing wheel.

It's quite a challenging task, but when the shine finally appears, it feels like all the effort was worth it.

下矢印 All parts have been polished.

The rubber parts are refreshingly white,

The lenses are the Fire (NXT polarized lenses), which complement the Romeo 1 well.

It turned out to be a nice and cool Romeo 1.

With the Romeo 1 having a wide surface area on the nose bridge, polishing it gives it an impressive and impactful look.

Why didn't Oakley release a polished version of the Romeo 1?

I think there were such requests from customers at the time.

Among the X-Metal series, I believe polished is a popular frame color. And in the case of the Romeo 1, being a color not originally offered, the polished version could be considered the royal road to customization.

Feel free to check out the video as well. (Although the rubber parts' color may be different, it's the actual product.)

I would be delighted if you could enjoy using them.

Well then, I'd like to end it here for now.

Thank you and goodbye.
