こんな古本を見つけた（古書で８００円でゲット）。
「加藤郁乎英詩百句選」（沖積舎 2011） 伊藤勲訳
「100 Selected Haiku of Kato Ikuya」というタイトルもついている。
加藤郁乎（1929-2012）詩人、俳人。
この中から、小野小町の「百人一首」の歌を紹介してみよう！
And now, the 21st haiku, "oh, the demon / has left me for another ; / I'm washing my hair" can be a parody of famous waka poem of Ono no Komachi（小野小町）. Komachi, figuring among Thirty-six Poetry Immortals, is well known as a prominent waka poetess with intelligence and beauty in the early Heian period in the 9th century. Komachi's waka is as follows :
花の色はうつりにけりないたづらに我身
世にふるながめせしまに
Ah, the tint of cherry blossoms
Has but faded away
While gazing
Upon the long rain ----
Life in the flux. （p.46-7）
なお、上の文で書かれている「Thirty-six Poetry Immortals」というのは、「三十六歌仙」のことだろう！
ちなみに、マクミラン新訳（文春文庫 2017）では、こう訳されている。
I have loved in rain
and now my beauty fades
like these cherry blossoms
paling in the long rains of spring
that I gaze upon alone. （p.25）
こうして見較べてみると、ずいぶんとテイストが異なる気がする（マクミラン新訳は説明っぽくみえる）。
加藤訳では、さすが詩人・俳人らしく、やはり最後に置かれた「flux」という語が見事で素晴らしいと思えるわ！
さらに、二行目の「but」も回顧・懐古の情を醸し出すのにいい訳語かな（＾＾）
