本日の超便利スペシャル英語： 「とはいうものの」
それでは今日は
シリーズ 「ルンバのどこがどうバカ？」 の
その３とその４を喰らうのよっ！！
とはいうものの、
まあ「その３」は少しはかわいそうだったかもしれないけど。
使用第一回目、ワタボコリたっぷりになっていたベッドの下の
掃除の様子が、
というか
掃除できてないのに一生懸命しているつもりな様子が、
もーそれはそれはバカだけど正直者な態度であんた可笑しくって！！
写真を撮っとけば良かったんだけど、
おかしいわバカだわ正直者だわでソレどころじゃなかったワ。
その３
ワタボコリをゼンゼン吸えず、砕氷船が氷を押し割りながら進むように
ホコリを押しながら走行。
バンパー周りにホコリをたくわえ、サンタクロース系のヒゲジイサンのような姿で
ベッドの下から登場。
その後ベッドの前に敷いてある心もち毛足長めのラグに
「コレ幸い」
とホコリをなすりつけ、気を取り直した様子できびすを返し、再びベッドの下へ。
これを数往復繰り返した結果、ラグはホコリだらけに。
「ホコリ持ってきただけかい？！このラグはどないするつもりやねん？！」
と突っ込みつつもしばらく観察。
しかし、何度通過してもタイヤでノシて行くだけで
結局いつまでたっても吸わず。
仕方ないからついにこのアタシがヒタチで掃除。
一ヶ月分のホコリの前に、丸チビ完敗。
すべての部屋もやっぱりこのアタシとヒタチが掃除。
ついでにヒゲジイサンもヒタチでお掃除してやり、
第1日目のこのアタシは大変納得しにくい気分に。
通常の掃除機にとっては
「どうぞお吸い下さい。」
ぐらいの感じの”待ってました”的ワタボコリの真上を
何度も通過して吸えないとはあんた、ありえない非力さだワ。
その４
「ここからアッチは行くんじゃない」
ということを教える装置（バーチャルウォール）を設置すると、
その境界から数cm手前で方向転換するのだが、
境界より向こうが一段下になっていると、方向転換したときに後ろ足（タイヤ）が下の段に落ち、
もがき苦しんだ挙句、ラクな方向、つまり段の下に下りることを勝手に決定。
一旦下の段に行くともう上には上がれないが、気持ちを切り替えたかのように
下の段の掃除を鋭意開始。
下の段だけミッチリ掃除して、満足ゲに終了。
部屋半分に置き畳を置いているために部屋の真ん中に段差が
あるというこのアタシのリビング。
ルン子にはとてもムリだったようだワ。
「ア！？ナニ勝手に下の段行っとんねん！？上の段だけ掃除せんかい！！」
と何度も引き上げてはやり直させたけど、またスグ落ちに行っちゃうの。
バーチャルウォールを境界よりもっと手前に設置するしかないんだけど、
そうすると境界線から５，６cm圏は掃除できないことに。
置き畳をやめない限りどうしようもないらしいワ。

Okay, guys, let me present
"What's so stupid about Roomba?" Part 3 & Part 4!
Having said that, Part 3 might have been too much to ask
the machine.
A month of no-cleaning created a field of thick fluffy dust
under my bed.
On its first day of work at my apartment, Roomba was
expected to clean this state.
The way Roomba was cleaning, or rather,
being unable to clean was especially dumb, yet honest,
which made me laugh.
I probably should have taken a photo, but the situation was too
dumb, honest and funny for me to remember taking a photo.
Part 3
Being unable to suck any of the dust, it pushed the dust and ran
like an icebreaker making its way through icy water surface.
When it came out of under the bed, it was looking like an old man
with a mustache and a beard ―really Santa Clauseish.
It then wiped its dusty mouth with the rug in front of the bed,
and after roughly transferring the dust onto the rug, it went back to
under the bed for the second round.
After 4 or 5 times of this, the rug becomes full of dust and dust balls.
I exclaimed,
"You only fetch dust from there to here?! What are you gonna do about this rug?!"
while keeping my observation.
It passed over the dust over and over again,
stamping on it for numerous times never sucking any of it.
So, what other choice did I have?
I vacuumed myself with my good old Hitachi.
There was nothing that round little dumbdumb could do before
one-month pile of dust.
I cleaned the other rooms too. I mean, with my Hitachi.
I even cleaned the Santa Clause's mustache with my Hitachi.
On Day 1 with Roomba left me in a slight remorse.
I mean, the dust under the bed was like saying
"I have been waiting for you vacuum cleaners to vacuum me up."
It's like vacuum cleaners' model target.
And Roomba does not have power enough to suck
those fluffy dust balls?? Really, iRobot?!
Part 4
When you set the device that tells Roomba not to go further than
the border it creats with signals (virtual walls,)
Roomba turns away several centimeters inside the virtual border.
But when the other side of the border is a step lower,
the rear tire of Roomba falls off the step when it's turning.
It flounders desperately in vain, and eventually decides to go
entirely down the step because it's easier, and starts to clean
the lower floor, as if it put cleaning the upper floor behind it.
And after cleaning the lower floor really thoroughly,
it finishes operation looking content.
I put tatami mats on one side of my living room, which
means that there's a about-2.5 cm-drop in the center of the room.
There was no way Roomba can deal with this.
When I first saw it doing this, I was like,
"Huh!? What are you doing going down?! Did I tell you to go down?!
Clean the frickin' tatami mats!!"
and brought it back to the upper level, but it fell again and again.
That means that I should set the virtual wall device more toward
inside the border. But then the area between the border and
about 5 to 6 cm line inside it can never be cleaned.
There seems like no way out of this unless
I give up putting tatamis.
