ハーイ、ガイズ、元気かしら？
このアタシ、先日ルンバを買ったの。
白状しちゃう。
この夏、このアタシときたら1ヶ月掃除機かけなかったの。
忙しくて時間なかったのもホントだけど、
ホントのホントに掃除機かける１時間がなかったかといういと、
そんなワケないわ。
だけど、チョビっとできたヒマに掃除機かけたくなるヒト、いる？！
いないワよね。いるわけないじゃない？
このアタシはね、拭き掃除と洗濯と食器洗いと整理整頓はスキな方なの。
イチバン好きなのは、全部メイドに任す、みたいなことだけど、
そんなのムリだから自分でするわけだけど、こういうのは苦にならないの。
むしろ使ったらすぐ片付けるとか、汚れたらすぐキレイにするとか、
しないでいられるヒトって信じられないワ！！
いつもスッキリした環境で生活していたいの。
とか言っておきながら、自分でもその矛盾ぶりにビックリするんだけど、
このアタシったら掃除機をかけるぐらいなら、
少々～わりとホコリだらけな中で生きていく方を選んじゃうの。
ナニを隠そう掃除機だけはもう大・大・大っっっキライ！！
第一うるさいのよ！
それから夏は暑いってんだよ！
掃除機で暖房できるんじゃあねえかってぐれえ熱くなりゃあがって
冗談じゃねえ、やってられねえな。
ハッ、どどうしたのかしら、このアタシったら、
江戸っ子のオッサンに憑依されてしまったワ。
ルンバって高いじゃない？
だから自分には全く関係ないワって思っていたわ。
でも、今年に入って仕事に加えてバアサンに手間がかかるようになっちゃって
それまでは2週間に1度はかけてた掃除機の間隔がもーどんどん伸びちゃって、
とうとう2週間が3週間になり、そして徐々に4週間に迫る勢いに・・・ってあんた、
ヤバイわ、これはいくらなんでもヤバイわよ。
それで、とうとうこのアタシの脳裏に
「こういうヤツこそ、ルンバなんじゃね？」
の芽が出て膨らんできたの。
だけど、やっぱり高いわよ。そうじゃない？
そんなある日・・・・

Hi, guys, how's it shakin'?
I bought a Roomba the other day.
I confess.
I didn't vacuum my apartment for a month this summer.
I was indeed too busy to vacuum clean it, but
didn't I really have just 1 hour to clean my apartment of such a humble size?
I guess I did.
But who feels like vacuuming when you find a bit of
free time between work, work, work and nursing and nursing??
No one. Isn't that so?
I kind of like wiping, laundry, dish-washing and tidying up.
Of course I like having a maid who does all of these for me better,
but I can't afford that, so I do them myself.
But these things don't bother me.
In fact, I don't know what's wrong with those who don't
put things back to where it was immediately after use or
who don't clean the mess they made.
I always like living in a tidy, organized space.
Having said that, I myself am stunned by the contradiction this makes;
I choose to live in a dusty to pretty dusty environment
if that means I don't have to vacuum.
Let me tell you this;
I really really really hate vacuuming!!!
First of all, it's noisy!!
And in summer it makes room temperature ridiculously hot!!
I think one vacuum cleaner alone can make a decent heater
sufficient to warm a small room in winter.
It is not at all designed to be used comfortably.
THIS MACHINE IS A JOKE.
A fact: Roomba is expensive.
I had never even thought it could become a part of my life
because of its price.
But over the past one year my life became busier and busier
with work and nursing.
And the vacuuming interval that used to be 2 weeks became
3 weeks and gradually approaching 4.... No, this is not OK.
It is not at all OK, guys!
And the notion emerged in the back of my mind;
"I am exactly a kind of person to whom Roomba is meant for, aren't I??"
And slowly but steadily, this notion swelled bigger and bigger day after day.
However, it's expensive!!! Isn't it??
And one day........
