本日のグルメ英語： 「チーズチーズした」
みなさま、ごきげんよう。
いかがお過ごしでしたかしら？
年が明けたと思ったら、もう2月。
慌ただしいのが大の苦手なこのあたくしですから、
毎日ただ優雅に暮らしているだけなのですけれど、
あたくしなりに、この季節は時間の移ろいを速く感じます。
夕べはあたくし、ワンオブザグッドルッキンガイズと
お食事でしたのよ。
名前はなんだったかしら、忘れましたけど、
あたくしのガイズの中のワイルド担当ですの。
彼とのデートはいつも刺激的。
バイクに二人乗りして夕陽のバルト海を見に行ったり、
四天王寺の亀池にユーロを投入したり、
ジャンジャン横丁で串カツを頂いたり。
普段のあたくしには想像もつかないような
場所に連れて行ってくれて、このあたくしの
人生の奥行きを深めてくれる、そんなガイですの。
夕べのお食事は、日本マクドナルド。
マクドナルドって、聞いてはいましたけれど、
入るのは生まれて初めて。
お席にウェイターが来るのではなくて、
こちらからオーダーしに行くんですのよ、知っていらしたかしら？
なんて突拍子もないこと！
メニューも、ほとんどサンドイッチしかございませんのね。
少し困ってしまったわ。
そうしましたらグッドルッキンガイが・・・まあ、名前がないのって、めんどうですわね、
越前守ということにしておきましょう。
そうしましたら越前守が、今はラスベガスバーガーがオススメですよ、ハニー様、
って教えてくれましたから、ではそうしましょうって決めて
知らない外国へ来たような、快い緊張感とともに
順番を待ちましたの。
「順番を待つ」なんて、そんなことも初めて。
常に誰よりも優先されて当然だと思って生きてきましたけれど、
凡人と同じように順番を待つなんて、とってもエキサイティング。
越前守の強引なリードのおかげです。
ドキドキしているうちに、とうとう自分の番が来ましたから
ラスベガスバーガーを、って言おうとしましたら、
慣れないものですから、誤って
「ラスベバスバーバー」
と言ってしまったんですの。
まあ、あたくしったら・・・、と思う間もなく、
向こうの方は
「ラスベガスバーガーがおひとつぅ。」
ってレジを打たれましたから、お気づきにならなかったよう。
越前守は
「あなたのゴージャスな美しさに圧倒されたのですね。」
ですって。ホホ、越前守ったら、当たり前のことを。
ラスベガスバーガー、とっても美味しかったですわよ。
チーズチーズしていて。
越前守が言うには、パテがいつもより肉肉しいそうですわ。
あたくしは白いマヨネーズのようなナゾのソースが
少し気持ち悪かったんですけれど、目をつぶって齧ると、たぶんチーズ？
というお味。そして全てが混ざり合ったとき、不思議と美味しくて、
まあ、不思議なおかしなソースさん、って思ってしまいましたことよ。
一つ残念だったのは、ワインが置いてなかったことですわ。
あのバーガーにはシャトーマルゴー'84が合う、と
越前守も言っていましたのに。
次に行くときはマイワインとマイソムリエを持って行かなくてはね。

Waiting in line itself is something new to me.
I've always lived thinking that I always come first, but waiting
just like other ordinary people was so exciting.

In no time, it was my turn.
I tried to say "One Las Vegas Burger, please" but instead I said,
"One Las Bébass Burber, please."
However, I barely had time to think "Oh, no..." before the cashier
said, "One Las Vegas Burger," and put it in the cashing machine.
I guess she didn't notice.
Echizen-no-Kami said,
"She was overwhelmed by your gorgeous beauty, honey."
Huh huh, Echizen-no-Kami, you're just stating the obvious.
Las Vegas Burger was pretty good.
It was cheesy.
Echizen-no-Kami mentioned that the pate was more like
real meat.
I found the white mayonnaise-like sauce a bit suspicious,
but when I bit it closing my eyes, it tasted perhaps like cheese,
and they all came as one to create good taste overall.
Strange weird sauce, that!
It was however a shame that they had no wine.
Both Echizen-no-Kami and I thought that the hamburger would
have gone very well with Chateau Margaux '84.
Next time, I will bring my own wine and sommelier.
