I have a Japanese friend who is really out of the ordinary
私の日本人の友達。。。すごい珍しい人何です
She is a party maniac...and takes every opportunity to invite friends over and to go to other's houses
パーティ好きです！ いつでも友達を家に呼んで。。。そして、よく他の人の家にも行く
She is really unusual!
すごい珍しい人です。
She often asks people about cooking...and that's why she is so good at cooking.
よく人を料理の事を質問する。 だから、彼女の料理はうまい。。。いつも勉強している。
She is really inquisitive about food and will immediately ask to be taught some dish if she takes a liking to it (takes a liking to something = すごい気にっている）
食べ物。。。興味すごいあるので。。。 好きな物を食べたら、必ずレシピを聞く！
I often teach her some non-Japanese cooking... and she, in return, teaches me various tips about Japanese cooking
私よく彼女に日本料理以外の料理を教えてあげる。。。そして、彼女は私に日本料理を詳しく教えてくれる
It works out for the both of us!

She said that...to ensure that the meat does not get tough, one puts it last...on top............so the "dashi" broth does not toughen the meat texture
お肉を固くならないように、最後に、上に載せます。。。そして出汁はお肉と。。。余り混ぜない、そして。。。お肉は柔らかい
But it is very important to use fresh meat
けど。。。大切のは。。。新鮮お肉を使うこと！
Old and cheap meat will produce a lot of yucky scum!
古い肉を使うと”あく”すごい出る

Rice cooked in a cast iron pot is really tasty
これ見たいの鍋でご飯を炊くと。。。すごい美味しいよ！
Another friend brought these Kyoto sweets for dessert
他の方は。。。この京都の和菓子を持ってきた
Japanese rarely entertain and prepare such a huge feast like this just for an ordinary lunch
フツのランチのに、すごいよいしてくれた。。。 珍しい。。。
I'm glad we had the opportunity to go and spend a lazy rainy afternoon there
その機会があって嬉しかった。 雨の日。。。ゆっくり友達の所で過ごしました
My husband had to practice cello for his recital the next day, so we let him off the hook
ハニーはチェロの練習をしなければならない（次の日の発表会！）だから、彼は自分でゆっくり自分の時間をエンジョイした。
