Ｓ＋Ｖ　（第一文型）　→　ＳはＶする。

《倒置形の２パターン》
① There + V + S
② 場所を表す副詞語句 + V + S

４７ The mid-term exams will start on the 18th of this month.
　　→ 中間試験は、今月の１８日に始まります。

４８　There exists an enormous difference between the two theories.
　　→ 二つの理論の間には、非常に大きな隔たりがある。

４９　There still remains much to be done.
　　→ なすべきことが、まだたくさんある。

５０ In the center of the university campus stands the statue of founders.
　　→ 大学構内の中央に、（その大学の）創立者の像が立っている。

５１　It doesn't matter whether they will agree with us or not.
　　→ 彼らが私達に賛成するかどうかは、重要なことではない。
　　　　（どちらでも、よいことだ。）

※"much to be done."は、muchを修飾する形容詞用法の不定詞。
