Now let’s turn to social media sensation Punch the Monkey. People on spring break are flocking to a zoo east of Tokyo for a glimpse of the baby Japanese macaque.
Visitors on Tuesday crowded around the macaque habitat at Ichikawa City Zoo in Chiba Prefecture.
Punch was born at the facility last July and abandoned by his mother soon after. He was raised by ✍zookeepers instead, who bottle-fed him. They kept him in a separate space from the other macaques.
The zoo gave Punch an orangutan plushie✍, which he started taking everywhere. He clung to it as if it were his mother.
Punch was allowed to join the other macaques in January. He initially struggled to integrate. But now he spends time socializing and even lets them groom him.
A zoo official says he is happy visitors are rooting for Punch to fit in, even if it means fewer chances to see him with his plushie✍.

I’ve been following Punch’s story for a while now. He’s👂 quite famous around the world for holding a stuffed toy that many children love. So I’m happy he’s finally starting to fit in. Just like humans, sometimes it takes time to join a new group.

What did they study at university?
🅰He studied agricultural science.

Mia: Your quality is excellent, but can you manage a stable supply for multiple locations拠点 in California?
Daichi: No problem. We work with company-managed fields畑 and long-term partner提携 farms across several regions. Different harvest 👂seasons keep our supply steady.
Mia: That's reassuring. But if demand picks up, can you scale up?
Daichi: We're ready. Our farmers receive technical support, and our facilities can expand responsibly. That’s something I focused on 力を入れてきたsince university―I studied agricultural science.
Mia: Oh, really?
Daichi: Yes. I’ve always wanted to build a sixth-industry model.
Mia: Sixth-industry model?
Daichi: Oh, maybe that’s a Japanese term. Farmers produce, process加工 and save the products themselves.
Mia: So, something like a farm-two-table model, but the farmers also doing processing?
Digi: Yes, that’s the idea. そういう考え方です。

⚫️相手の意向を確認する

S: So, Hannah, what do you think about asking questions this way?
H: Hmm… this is honestly a great listening technique, even in non-business settings. Because if you can accurately repeat back to someone what they communicated, you have a higher chance of understanding their meaning and also giving them reassurance that they are being heard. It’s a great way to smooth communication in tense situations.
