先日パロアルトに行く機会がありました。
パロアルトというとスタンフォード大学を想像する方も多いのでは。
とても素敵な街だと個人的に思います。
サンフランシスコからは車で約40分程、カルトレインを使うと約１時間程の距離なので、あまり頻繁には行けない地域ではあります。
ダウンタウンを歩いていたときに見つけた可愛らしいフレンチパティスリー

店内に数席、お店の前に数席。
フランスっぽい雰囲気が漂っていました。
ケースに並ぶケーキやペイストリーが綺麗でした。
お店のウェブサイトもパステルグリーンを基調に爽やかで綺麗な感じです。
少しお高めではあります。

どれも甘さ控えめで、上品なお味で美味しかったです。
お皿もリサイクル可能でエコフレンドリー。
Debora Ferrandさんが創始者。Palo Alto Onlineによると、
2015年に第一号店となるカフェをMenlo Parkにオープン。
Redwood Cityにもお店があり、さらに、去年Athertonにも新しい店舗をオープン。
Deboraさんは、ブラジル出身ですが、フランスで育ち、ルコルドンブルー、そして、the School of Alain Ducasseに通われたそうです。

Hello everyone!
We went to Palo Alto last weekend and it was such a nice day. When it comes to Palo Alto, many people would probably think of Stanford University. I personally like the area and I think it’s a lovely city. It’s about a 40 min drive or about an hour by Caltrain from San Francisco, so I hardly go there these days.
While we were walking on the street in downtown, we found a cute French patisserie;

There were a few tables both inside and in front of the place. It actually looked like a cafe in France. Beautiful cakes and pastries were neatly lined up in a showcase. You could see beautiful pictures of their baked goods on their website. It uses a light pastel green color and gives a cute and calm impression.
Items we bought include the Almond Croissant, Lemon Cake and Carrot Cake. They were all not too sweet, classic and tasted very well. It was what I expected. It was a bit of pricy, though. They use recyclable plates which is eco-friendly.
Mademoiselle Colette was founded by Debora Ferrand. According to Palo Alto Online, she opened the first cafe in Menlo Park in 2015. There is another one in Redwood City and the newest big cafe opened in Atherton last year. She is original from Brazil but grew up in France and she “attended Le Cordon Bleu and studied at the School of Alain Ducasse in France.”
