こちらも前から気になっていたコーヒーショップ＆カフェ
Andytown Coffee Roasters
オリジナル店舗は、2014年にサンセット地区にオープンして（3655 Lawton St）、サンフランシスコには他4店舗、そして、メンロパークに1店舗、合計6店舗あります。
2人のバリスタ、Michael McCrory さんと Lauren Crabbeさんがオーナーです。
サンフランシスコのグリーンビジネスとオーシャンフレンドリーレストランとに認定されていて、無駄なプラスチックを利用しないなど海洋を守るため持続可能な努力をしています。
今回は、ソーマ地区にあるお店に行ってきました。

公園からの入口が分かる看板
建物の入口からは案内板がないので、わかりにくいです。
建物に入って、奥にあるエレベーターを利用して、７階へ。
初めて行こうと試みたときに、エレベーターが壊れていて、別の入口がすぐわからず、諦めてしまいました。

結構広い空間で良い雰囲気でした。
ウェブサイトには、お祖母さんの台所のような、綺麗で、心地よく、温かく受け入れられるような感じを抱けるような場所にしたかったとありました。
角にカウンターがあって、その前と横のスペースに席があります。
モカとラテ。
いつものようにオートミルクで。
抹茶ラテを頼んでいる人たちも多かったです。
スコーンも一緒に。
Soda Currant Scone
小さな干し葡萄が入っているスコーン。
甘さ控えめでしっかりとしたスコーンで美味しかったです。
ペイストリーは、このお店は独自に、そのほかの店舗は、Lawton店で作られたものが置かれているようです。

Mixed Berry Corn Muffin - Gluten-free & nut-free
Banana Bread Muffin
どれも甘さ控えめで、美味しかったです。
卵が入っていなかったり、グルテンフリーだったり、ヘルシー感があります。
また買いたいと思うものばかりでした。
そして、少し違ったドリンクを
Matcha Plover
抹茶、ブラウンシュガー、スパークリングウォーターを合わせたものに、自家製のクリームが上に。
クリームの部分は少なくして貰えばよかったかも、と思いましたが、爽やかで、新しい感じの飲み物でした。
エスプレッソ版のThe Original Birdは、このお店の特徴的なドリンク。今度試してみたいです。
セールスフォースタワー近辺で落ち着けるカフェをお探しでしたらぜひ。

Another coffee shop and cafe I’ve been curious about;
Andytown Coffee Roasters
The original cafe opened in Sunset District in 2014 (3655 Lawton St). There are 4 other locations in San Francisco and one in Menlo Park, 6 in total. Two baristas, Michael McCrory and Lauren Crabbe started them. Their cafes are “ certified as a San Francisco Green Business and Surfrider Ocean-Friendly Restaurant” making an effort to make sustainable choices for ocean such as avoiding wasteful single-use plastics.
We went to the cafe in SOMA. It’s connected to Transbay Terminal Park. There’s an entrance from the park side and the other one from the 181 Front Street building. It was a bit hard to find the entrance from the building as it’s not mentioned outside the building. You’d go inside and find an elevator to go up to the 7th floor where a cafe is. The elevator was broken the first time I tried to visit and couldn’t find other entrance so I gave up...
After getting off the elevator, you will find an entrance in front. It was spacious and cozy space. According to their website, they “wanted Andytown to feel like your grandmother's kitchen—clean, cozy, welcoming, and warm.“
The counter was located in the corner and some tables and chairs in the space next to it and in front of the counter.
We had a cafe mocha and latte with oat milk as usual. I saw many people ordering matcha latte. We also got the Soda Currant Scone as well. Apparently, it was egg-free. It was not too sweet and tasted well. I liked it. Pastries were house-made but other locations get pasties from the Lawton location.
We came here the other day and bought other pastries below.
- Pumpkin Chocolate Scone; Egg-free
- Mixed Berry Corn Muffin; Gluten-free
- Banana Bread Muffin
They all tasted well and not too sweet. Some of them are egg or gluten free and seemed healthy. I’d buy them again.
Also, I tried other drink, called Matcha Plover. It is “a green-tea take on their (our) signature beverage. Made with organic matcha powder, brown sugar syrup, sparkling water over ice, and topped with our housemade whipped cream.”
I preferred less whipped cream but it was refreshing. I’ve never drank something like this before so it was new to me. The espresso version is called the Original Bird and it’s their signature drink. I want to try it next time.
If you’re looking for a relaxing cafe around Salesforce Tower, I’d recommend this place. It was a good working space.
