「霧の街」サンフランシスコ
と言われているとは知らなかった私
お恥ずかしいことに、西海岸の暖かい気候をイメージしていました。
こちらに来て、年中涼しいということを知って、慌ててセーターを買ったり、
そして、霧の街サンフランシスコと呼ばれているらしい、と後から知るのでした。
確かに、霧がある日は多いような気もしますが、そこまで気にならないです。毎日ではないですし、気分がドヨーンとするような日々が続く、ということもない気がします。
同じサンフランシスコでも場所によるかも？
何となくですが、南西が割と霧の日になると、結構霧がかかっているような。
例えば、ゴールデンゲートパークの南側に位置するサンセット地区など。
ゴールデンゲートブリッジは、北西の方にありますが、霧がすごいとこんな感じに
何だか圧倒されますよね
ゴールデンゲートブリッジを渡る時には、全然前が見えなくなります
サンフランシスコよりも、こちらで、霧 と聞くと、
サンフランシスコのすぐ隣の街、
デイリーシティ
のことを思い浮かべます。
ここは、結構霧が多いイメージで、移動すると、急にこの場所だけ分厚い霧に囲まれるようなことも
今日は曇り？と思う日は、雲ではなくて、大体霧のせいで、ドヨーンとしている感じです。
"City of Fog" San Francisco?
I didn't know about it... It's embarrasing but my image on San Francisco was a typical west coast nice weather. I got to know how chilly it is all year round and I had to buy a few sweaters after I came here. Also, I found out that San Francisco is known as a city of fog.
I would say it's true that it is sometimes foggy but I don't think it bothers much as it's not every day or it's not like it makes me feel gloomy all the time. It would probably depend on where about San Francisco you are at. I feel like it gets more foggy towards south west. For instance, Sunset District which is south of Golden Gate Park.
Golden Gate Bridge is located in north west and when it gets foggy, it would be like the picture above.
It actually looks fantastic and surreal. It would be very difficult to see anything ahead of you on the bridge. When it comes to fog, I would think of Daly City instead of San Francisco, which is adjacent to the city. It gets foggy more often and I sometimes get surprised at times I see a fog out of sudden when I go there. Whenever it seems cloudy, it usually means it's foggy and gloomy.
