こちらに来てから、ハマったものの一つ、
観葉植物
東京にいた時は、お花を飾ることはありましたが、あまり観葉植物を意識していなかった感じでした。
サンフランシスコ・ベイエリアでは、観葉植物を置いているお家結構あります
サイズは、小さいものから大きいものまで。
ちょっと道を歩いていても、窓から観葉植物が見えることも少なくないです
私は初心者だったので、育てやすい観葉植物から始めました
そして室内で育つものを探しました。
ということで、
パキラ
Money Tree とも言われていて、
金運、仕事運の向上に良い！らしく、縁起の良い観葉植物ということで、購入
買った当初
大きさは色々で、小さめのものから人の高さぐらいまでのものも。
調べてみると、花言葉は、快活、勝利、でした。
面白いのが、この幹の部分で、
このように、練られていることが多いです。
確かに育てやすいです
お水を適度に毎日あげるだけで、育ってくれました。
寒さや乾燥に強いと聞きましたが、サンフランシスコは決して暑くはなく、乾燥しているので、ちょうどあっているのかも？
光が好きみたいで、置く位置を変えると、葉っぱの向きが光がくる方へ
スクスク育つ様子を見るだけでも気分が上がります
One of the things I got into since I came here is
Plants
I've had some flowers at home at times in Tokyo but I didn't have a chance to grow plants. I feel like there are more plants at home in San Francisco Bay Area. They could be small or big. I see many plants by a window walking on the street.
Since I never grew plants before, I decided to go with a plant that won't require much work to maintain and it could grow indoor. I found Pachira, a money tree. Apparently it is said it would bring a luck on money and work and is considered as a good luck plant. Money trees could be small or huge like a height of human being.
When I searched a little, its symbolism is happiness and good fortune.
Trunks of trees are braided together as they grow, which is interesting.
It is true that it's easy to grow them. I've been watering them every day and it's been growing well. I heard it is tolerant of coldness and dryness which might help for san Francisco weather? It definitely likes sun and it's funny their leaves head towards the direction of sun. It is fun and uplifting to see them growing well.
