K asked me for the name of the person who designed our Language Tree logo because she also wants to get a logo for her business. I asked A if she had a logo for her Japanese pub and she said no, just the name. Her father was a signwriter and he made it a long time ago.

M was looking for a while inside her bag and couldn't find a pen, so A lent her one fo hers. A's pens have her pub's name on them and even have a small flashlight in the top. I said the British English word for flashlight was "torch", and K said "Oh, the same as Olympic torch", which is correct.

K's business has a Spanish name - Mi Lanita - which is a story about a little sheep. I said a baby sheep is called a "lamb". Some animals in English have a different word for when they are a baby (eg, kitten, puppy), but you can always say "baby_ _".

K was wearing a necklace of the woollen balls she makes. I asked if they had stones inside (she also make felt stones), but she said no. M said that would be too heavy and she'd get a stiff neck.

I said most people these days have stiff necks and shoulders because we are always looking down. We need to remember to sometimes look upwards at the clouds and the ceilings.

On the ceiling of the salon room there are 5 thumbtacks, and I wondered why. The manager of the nursery said he didn't know why. Perhaps they are left over from when this nursery space used to be a supermarket.

K asked "How long has this nursery been here?", and I said 2-3 years.

K then told me that her friend that we talked about last week, who had been kidnapped by a UFO, is coming to stay with her at the end of this month.

K said there was a show about UFOs on TV last night. I said I briefly saw it, but the Japanese shows about UFOs are always too sensationalized. There's always corny, dramatic music and sound-effects, exaggerated, fake reactions from the studio guests, and constant over-hypeing of what's coming up.

A, who wasn't here last week, said she had a sort of weird encounter, but it wasn't a UFO. She once saw a strange orange light in the sky when driving near Makinohara. It was about 10 meters long, and diagonal, and then sudddenly disappeared. She also saw other people on the sidewalk watching it too.
